Yamaha has registered a 20 per cent growth in November 2016 over the corresponding period in 2015. Despite this strong performance, the company has been pushed to the sixth spot in the Indian two-wheeler industry by Royal Enfield, which recorded a staggering 41 per cent growth in the last month.
While the other two-wheeler manufacturers have been suffering from the after effects of demonetisation, Yamaha has beaten the odds to register growth. Yamaha's domestic sales numbers for November touched 51,106 units as opposed to 42,719 units in the November , last year. While the FZ and R15 range continue to perform consistently, the Fascino and the Ray ZR have also played an important role in helping Yamaha achieve this feat.
Yamaha is planning to sell eight lakh two-wheelers in this year and 10 lakh units in 2017. With the the way things are right now, Yamaha seems well on its way to achieve this year’s target.
