JawaYezdi motorcycles, which was previously known as Classic Legends, has updated the Jawa 42 for 2023. These updates are mainly executed in the engine along with the addition of new features. Moreover, the prices of the Jawa 42 have also gone up. In that case, let’s take a detailed look at the motorcycle.
What’s changed in the engine of the Jawa 42?
While the displacement of its 294.72cc engine remains unchanged, the company has now incorporated a larger throttle body and exhaust ports, and remapped the fueling of the motor. These tweaks are claimed to make the bike more rideable and bump up the performance. Although Jawa Yezdi hasn’t revealed the new performance numbers, we don’t think there will be any significant change. The previous iteration would churn out 26.95bhp and 26.84Nm. Furthermore, some internal changes to reduce the NVH levels have also been executed.
What new features does the 2023 Jawa 42 get?
The 2023 Jawa 42 should be easier to ride in the city as it gets an assist and slipper clutch now. This will make the clutch action lighter, making it easier to work its six-speed gearbox. Jawa Yezdi has also tweaked its digital instrument cluster, added hazard lights as standard, and redesigned the muffler for a different exhaust note.
Are there any changes to the hardware of the Jawa 42?
The 2023 Jawa 42 has remained unchanged and it continues to be underpinned by a double cradle frame which rides on an 18-17-inch alloy wheel combination. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks up front and gas-charged dual springs at the rear. Meanwhile, braking duties are handled by a 280mm disc up front and a 153mm disc at the rear. With a fuel tank of 13.2-litre, the kerb weight of the bike stands at 182kg.
What are the prices and rivals of the 2023 Jawa 42?
The 2023 Jawa 42 is available in three colour variants – Orion Red and Sirius Black which cost Rs 1,96,142 and Allstar Black which is pegged at Rs 1,97,142 (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). It goes up against the likes of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, Honda Hness CB350, and Benelli Imperiale.
