      Dear prospective buyers
Please read carefully before buying any variant of Jawa yezdi
I bought this shit product of Jawa 42 on December 21. After 25 days it started making my life miserable. At an interval of every 2 months, the engine malfunction light lits on and the vehicle comes to the no response stage. Even I had to get assistance os RSA and tow my bike 4 times. Worst ever performance. I had to sell my 2 and half year Jawa 42 for only Rs 70,000. Compelled to foreclose my loan. Also, all service centers are bull shit and spares are not available. One of the service centers even billed me for a clutch cable which they didn't replace. Recommend everyone not to opt for Jawa Yezdi. I took the time to write this. I am a sufferer and don't want others to face this.

One of the worst bikes ever bought. Big '0' resale value, performance was very bad, no service center in Kannur, spare parts are very, very costly, and vehicle maintenance was too high. On the whole, I would sincerely advise bike lovers not to purchase JAWA bikes. I have used multiple bikes, but this one was the worst.

    • Stylish Ride But few improvements can be done

      Priyanshu

Buying the JAWA 42 was a mostly smooth process with clear pricing and helpful dealership staff, though I did experience a bit of a wait for delivery. Riding it has been a pleasure; the bike feels comfortable and handles well with its 293cc engine, whether I’m in the city or on the highway. I like the retro design—it’s a great mix of classic and modern. However, I’ve noticed some issues with the paint and chrome quality. Servicing has been straightforward and reasonably priced, but finding service centers can be a bit tricky in some areas, which might mean longer wait times. Overall, I’m happy with the JAWA 42 for its stylish looks and solid performance at a good price, though some improvements in service and build quality would make it even better.

    • My 5 Years Ownership Review

      Naveen Kumar

HI, I have purchased this bike in JAN 2020, I will share the positives and negatives of this bike without any bias. Positives: 1. This is my First and foremost bike, I learned how to ride a motorcycle with this bike itself, Looks good, rides well, the power is good, seat height is good, when I first bought it one asked about it, felt good.
Now let's talk about my experience with the bike mainly the negative side.
      1. After I bought it, before the first service, it used to stall. I thought it was my riding style because I did not know how to ride a bike before. After the first service, I understood that the clutch cable and other parts were loose.
      2. after a few hundred Kms cone set became loose, I had to tighten it from a local shop. after 2 yrs of riding,g i have changed the cone set completely. (costing around 2k)
      3. after 18000+ Kms i had to change the battery and Starter coil assembly completely, I have changed it. (costing around 7k)
      4. at 20000+ Kms i had to change the chain tenser and again the battery and starter coil assembly, wiring etc. (costing around 8k)
      5. at 22000+ Kms i had to change the one-way clutch (costing around 6k)
      6. at 24000+ Kms i had to change the battery and starter coil assembly, regulator etc. (costing me around 8k)
      7. at 26000+ Kms i had to change the battery and regulator, wiring, Ignition key replacement etc. (costing me around 12k)
      8. after the first 3 services expect avg service charges up to 5k (Not included above), with out above replacements.
      9. bike paint quality and seat were major concerns at the start, I don't know about current updated bikes.
      10. Normally you have to change tiers anyway, i have changed it costing me around 5k for both tyres.
As you can see, I had changed wiring, battery, starter coils, regulator etc. very often. this shows the bike has a very major starting problem, which i did not like it. imagine you are in traffic, and scared to turn off your motorcycle, because it won't start again and you don't know how to push start it, and you had to purchase a battery charging kit for safety.
i thought about selling it, but it's just a loss for me, and using it to loss, I don't know when will regulator needs to be changed again (maybe within 2000KMs), now the fuel economy also came down drastically, in traffic i am getting 24Kmpl. so, I will keep this as a art piece, my first bike, and also a reminder, to always look for reliability. ( i bought Honda Shine 100 for city office commute, scared of jawa 420 now). next time don't make a mistake just buy the most reliable bike may be Yamaha 3 series for budget, or Honda 650 bikes, i can't settle for less power now.

Very Good for long rides. Awesome sitting position for riders and grip on the road is excellent. The Jawa 42 is more than just a motorcycle; it's a thrilling neo-classic machine that combines vintage aesthetics with modern engineering. Riders love its agile handling, powerful engine, and head-turning style, making it an exciting choice for both city commutes and open-road adventures.

    • EXCELLENT BIKE.....

      Harsh

Overall, the Jawa 42 is a wonderful pick for someone who values style, character, and a nostalgic ride quality. It’s not the most feature-rich or cheapest bike to maintain, but for enthusiasts who appreciate retro design and are okay with occasional compromises, it’s a highly rewarding motorcycle. On the flip side, after-sales service and spare parts cost is a recurring concern among owners.
Some also mention a lack of modern features — the older trims use a basic digi-analogue cluster, and there’s no Bluetooth or riding modes.
Ground clearance is another weak point: the long, low exhaust can scrape on speed-breakers or potholes.
Design-wise, the Jawa 42 stands out with its minimalistic yet muscular styling. The round headlamp, clean-fuel tank shape, and retro-inspired frame give it a timeless look, while the alloy components and modern finish provide durability.
Its seat height is relatively low (about 765 mm), which makes it manageable in city traffic, and the ride posture is comfortable for daily commuting.

      2. after a few hundred Kms cone set became loose, I had to tighten it from a local shop. after 2 yrs of riding,g i have changed the cone set completely.

      Tips for other riders

For owning the JAWA 42, follow regular maintenance schedules and use authorized service centers. Protect the paint and chrome with wax, keep tire pressure in check, and stay informed about recalls. Knowing basic repairs and engaging with owner forums can also enhance your riding experience.

      Pros:
      * Comfortable ride
      * Easy to handle
      * Powerful engine
      * Good fuel economy
      * Affordable price
      Cons:

      Conclusion:
Overall, I'm happy. It's a great value for the money and a versatile bike that can be used for various purposes. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and affordable motorcycle.
