Honda Hness - an excellent price-performance

4 months ago by Venkatesh Vc1,615 views

Bought the anniversary edition at palace Honda Mysore. Absolutely worth the additional 4000rs over the pro version as it comes with splits seats (a new one is 3300₹) golden Honda & highness logo, chrome side stand, the anniversary edition decal in gold on the fuel tank and a few more.
I love the thundering sound of the bike while riding. Shifting is so clean. Amazing pickup. And the best of all - its a Honda....
Absolutely value for money.

Tips for Honda Hness CB350

The shifters are clean. Yes its a 5 speed bike compared to the earlier Duke 390 which us 6vspeed. But still does it's job very well. More over I'm a safe rider who seldom rides above 70 km/h. The looks are absolutely classic. Was considering Meteor but then I didn't like the sales support. And its a RE which has become too common.

Nice looking, it's a very good machine for a mature man. Need to give backrest with the bike. Overall build quality is good. Drl &. Headlamps are attractive. Spare parts and maintenance cost too less compared to royal enfield. This bike is totally a family bike you can't do rough riding like eg. Duke etc. Very comfortable bike.

I have made many trips on honda cb350 the riding experience is great and the bike is very smooth and the sitting posture is very comfortable.
    Honda cb350 looks very classic.
The average service cost of honda cb350 per year is 2k to 3k.
The only cons I found is the turning radius in the city is a little bit larger than competitors

The city ride is more comfortable. It's a honda, so the engine is amazing, will not put you to rest until the rider is tired. Thanks to honda for a wonderful machine.

The bike has no issues except one will discuss later... Now on the pros of this bike -
It has very good exhaust and throttles with the best pickup even better than re's meteor 350 & classic 350,
Performance and looks are the questions that need not be answered as it's that good,
The seating posture is also good,
The best part is that it has a very uniform weight distribution which helps greatly in handling and turning the bike,
The maintenance is required only in lubrication on regular basis &
Servicing is also cheap it costs me around rs.1800/- for 1st 3 services in bigwing honda (for outstation service it costs me rs.4228/-)
    But
The only con is that after 10-11 months of purchase I have a very serious mileage issue of only **18 km/l** which was claimed to be around 35 km/l at the time of purchase.

This motorcycle is quite nice to ride not only within the city but on highways too. It can easily cruise at a speed of 80-100 km/h without a fuss but a good windscreen is a must, the high-speed stability is great and inspires confidence to keep riding on and on. If you ride this bike often you will always notice the frequent gear changes in the city and it can become quite a pain and tiring if you are not used to it. All the gears are super tall and the 5th gear is a cruising gear with little to no pulling power. Ideally, the most famous gear you will always use in the city is 3rd. 4th gear only if you at 60 km/h and cruising. The ride quality is quite compliant and plush at low speeds but I seriously suggest you adjust the pre load on the rear shock to the 2nd softest position for really good bump absorption so you won't get any jolts running through your spine. Handling wise it's really a sharp and direct handler, it's really impressive how nicely this machine handles through corners and with aggressive riding. One major thing to point out is that very early surface rust is common on the cb350, especially on the welded areas on the frame. It can be a concern in the future if you ride often in the rain and don't dry the bike afterward, even using salty or hard water can make it worse and spread faster so I recommend to please make sure the bike is never parked out in the sun for many hours and to properly dry the bike after wash. Otherwise, it will become a rust-bucket within 2-3 years, and nobody wants that. If you thinking about touring on the cb350 you will not be disappointed with this motorcycle and it will happily take you wherever you want it to. I highly suggest you do not buy the windscreen that honda is offering for the cb350 because it's utterly useless at deflecting wind due to its small size, it looks good that's all. Form over function. Which is not ideal. One last point to add is that if you a fan of how the bullet or classic 350s sound then you will love the sound of the cb350, it's meaty loud and growly and at low speeds, it really does sound like a bullet that's been smoothened out. Overall if you want a good and reliable city motorcycle to commute in style and good comfort with excellent mileage too. Around 35-40 km/l you will get a riding range of 500-600km on a full tank which can take upto 17 liters. If you don't like tall gearing then please do not buy the cb350 because it is a nightmare to live with a tall geared motorcycle in the city. It is more expensive than the classic 350 but you get hondas legendary cb signature style motorcycle with modern electronics.

If only the tall gear ratio is sorted out, it would have a great machine. Pros
Fantastic machine, butter smooth, slipper clutch, abs ie fantastic braking, confident riding
    Cons
Tall gear ratios, frequent gear change at low speeds, the slipper clutch helps a lot but missing out as a low-end cruiser bike.
Verdict:If only the gear ratio is sorted out, it will be a fantastic machine.

The bike was really amazing and the build quality was premium when compared to its rival brands. I bought the h'ness cb350 from honda bigwing, malakpet, Hyderabad. The bike is very much smooth and comfortable to ride.
Its acceleration is very much quicker and is undeniably the fastest in its segment. The only con i noticed is the muffler(engine pipe) discoloration from chrome to gold at end of the pipe. When i reported it to the service centre they informed me that it was normal if high performance bikes, although it was looking cool as it was in gold.
At the end a honda is known for its legendary reliability.

Honda CB350: Road Test Review

22 December 2020
Pratheek Kunder

The Honda CB350 was developed only with one intention – take some sales away from Royal Enfield. So the bike had to carry a few aspects like modern retro styling, a good exhaust thump and also lots of aspiration. While Honda managed to bring in some of these aspects to the...
