    About the Reviewer

    Ridden for (If Owned)

    5000-15000 km

    Got mileage of

    150 kmpl

I have been riding this bike for 4+ years now.

Comfort. 5 stars.I usually drive from vellore to chennai which is~150km that i use to cross without stopping anywhere so you can think with your other bikes within this distance how many times you have to stop to relax your back and burning butt. Lol. It really feels like god/so good.;-).But its not the same for the pillion rider your butt will burn like you are in hell. At first with back rest you will find it very very comfortable but not for so long due to narrow rear seat you will find the burn.As pillion rider my score will be 2 stars since most other bikes even rider will have this comfort only.:p

Control: .4 stars. For control, this bike will always do what you say and you will never lose your control in this bike but the thing is you should know how to tell so one star less. The original back brake comes along with 200 was bad, you have to stand on it to stop but pro biking had later changed mine to 220 type brake system(it cost me 1500rs) with some rework(it looks like original fitment) now its very good.Braking only back brake will skid easily even at less speed at roads with even slight sand on it. So you have to apply both in same phase and it will control its speed even at 120km/h very easily. Its no good for taking curves with high speed and more slanting it will cause waviness and lose control. It will not fall down so easily.Even if you missed your control at some time still you can easily manage it control without falling down.

Handling its very very easy and comfort. I been using this for a quit long time now.But first time when you drive this i can remember my experience, it will take some time to take control of this since you know this bike front wheel is quite long from the rider compare to other bikes. After driving other bikes and first time when you sit on this bike you will feel like your are under earth but later you will find the comfort in it.The gear shifting is so smooth it will never make a noise. Its cruiser so the acceleration is not very good you have to drive in high rpm if you want to race with other bikes. After 80km/h speed it gives vibration but it is still ok to drive to 100km/hr with full control. You could reach top 120km/hr speed very easily but after years it can still reach 110 easily but 120 now hard to reach for me after 5 years.

Fuel conception.3 stars. To my experience and feedback from others it will give 30km/l or max 35km/l even it will move down to 25km/l if your driving is rash(for my driving only 26 - 28 km/l).But its 200cc and most of now a days bikes gives the same. Don't calculate the mileage with reserve to reserve, the reserve don't work at the same point always.

Look.5 stars. The look of this bike i don't know how your friends will tell you but i am sure if you maintain clean with all your chrome parts shining as new with proper maintenance when you go out at least two person will ask you about your bike. For this cost this bike will look like miss world with you. Lol. You should not let the dirt stay on your bike for more than 2 weeks its chrome will start with spots of oxides and if its shining is lost it will look like old mummy when you park it along with other bikes. So its important you clean it at-least twice in a month and in rainy seasons at-least once in a week.

Maintenance: if your don't maintain your bike clean and with proper service its not your choice of bike. This bike requires a lot of maintenance.Chain and sprocket life 15000 - 20000kms. Speedometer have to be replace at 30000km i don't know whether bajaj have kept some lock to stop its working after 30000kms .If its avenger 200 you have to change the brakes to 220 type braking system else the braking is not good.Clutch cable have life not more than 5000kms. First battery you have to change it within 2- 3 years and the new exide dry battery give me life more than 3.5 years now.The main draw back for this bike is, this bike don't have kicker option but i appreciate bajaj effort since my bike haven't given any trouble in starting till now other than the battery dry up problem. At any time it will start with just one press you can relay on this.I had false neutral in between gear 4th & 5th which i had to fix it in pro biking now its ok. Rear tyre is difficult to find since its not common in other bikes so tyre shops don't keep it in stock.Rear brake will always make noise as lorry brake you can make "n" no of maintenance but still it will be the same.

This is not the bike for one who clean and service the bike once in a while. If you maintain this bike well with cleaning and proper periodic maintenance and spare parts changed it is the best bike you will never give-up even for harley.

The Avenger offers the best comfort and riding experience in its price segment, making it one of the best cruiser bikes available. It delivers the pickup similar to that of a sports bike, with a speed limit of up to 140 km/h. If you're considering the Royal Enfield Bullet or Classic 350, I recommend experiencing the Avenger first; it provides an excellent riding experience at a lower price compared to its competitors. With a 220F Pulsar engine, it performs exceptionally well in terms of speed.

i am riding this bike last 3 years the bike performance is awesome but the rear breaking system is not good 2018 purchased modal. Now this improved with coming it with disk break which is more getting confidence. The bike mileage is less at least should be 40kmp/l on road. i will buy this bike again if come with better mileage and features.

I am using Bajaj Avenger Cruiser 220. It's a Comfortable ride with Great pickup. I make ride for hills, forest, tea Garden, town and city side at a time but no issue with my Cruiser bike. I feel always comfortable with this. Just problem is a little bit technical issue with the fuel indicator. The fuel indicator does not always display the correct fuel level. Another thing is all ok. Thanks to Bajaj for Low Budget Cruiser like Avenger.

    • Great bike but need upgradation urgently!

I have been riding Avenget 220 Cruise since 2012, and I still own it, and I like the bike very much, but I think this bike needs an upgrade in engine (bigger engine) and features, like dual disc brakes, ABS, option of tubeless tyres, etc. The bike is very comfortable and easy to handle. My front rim is damaged by rust. I visited the service center and the Bajaj spare shop many times, but the rims are not available, which is creating a problem for me and my bike.

Have an Old Model of Avenger 220, riding since August 2013. Still in good condition, comfortable for long routes as well as city commutes. No other bike is comparable to the Avenger... Not much mileage, mostly used for home to office and back. But whenever I ride it, I get a great experience with super comfort.

When I bought my Avenger 220cc in 2012, it was a very emotional day for me. I loved my Bike as it was my dream to buy it. I have a very good experience with my bike, it's a good companion. I've had many long drives with it, especially with the Led Ladakh tour, which I did solo on my bike. It didn't give me any trouble throughout my travel, whatever the road conditions were. It's a tough machine, I must say. Almost easy to handle and low maintenance, cost effective and don't give any niggles.
I'll advise every rider to maintain this bike and go for the servicing timely manner. It won't let you down.

There weren't many market-tried cruise bike options at the time. This bike has some issues. It doesn't have a start kick. This gives rise to a major reliability problem. I've suffered much due to this. The stock battery that came with the bike was having issues from the start. Got it replaced under warranty (after some fight with the showroom). Its road grip is pathetic. The stopping power of the rear brake also does not induce much confidence. In testing rides like those in the rain, on remote roads, and in difficult terrain (such as hilly roads), this bike can cause anxiety due to overall reliability issues.

    • Excellent value for money, but with some limitations

      Chaitanya Ravi

I owned an Avenger 220 Cruise from 2018-2024. Rode it for 33,000 plus kms, often 60-70kms five days of week for office commute. Bike looks good and is super-reliable with a smooth engine and uniform torque delivery. Never had it stop on me even once and never gave any starting problems even under conditions of heavy rainfall.
Cruises well at 60-70 kms and can hold those speeds all day long but vibrations kick in beyond that. I had the version with drum brakes in the rear so locking of brakes and skidding were issues when riding in wet conditions. Bike is also light at 160 kgs so gusts of winds on highways tend to result in lane stability issues.
Mileage was consistent throughout ownership. The cruiser-like riding position and low-slung body make riding it a pleasure with high levels of comfort but any potholes and speed-breakers result in shocks to the lower back. The seat is thin and begins to bite and make riding very uncomfortable beyond 1.5/2 hrs on long rides. My pillion rider frequently complained about this.
I have upgraded to a 500 cc bike. But overall, the Avenger 220 cc cruise is an excellent value for money and a great first bike. Bike looks great, is surprisingly rugged and gobbles the miles in a variety of challenging conditions with good mileage of 35 plus kms. The bike is in its comfort zone on highways but also manoeuvres well in the city.
Bajaj could have introduced higher-powered versions of the bike and I would have gladly jumped at the chance to own a 500cc version.
