KTM India has announced the launch of the 2022 390 Adventure at an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 3.35 lakh. This makes the latest iteration of the motorcycle nearly Rs 7,000 more expensive than its predecessor which was sold at Rs 3.28 lakh. Here we list the alternatives that potential buyers can consider in a similar price range.
BMW G 310 GS (Rs 3.05 lakh)
BMW Motorrad’s entry-level GS model is a direct rival to the KTM 390 Adventure in the Indian market. The G 310 GS received a major price cut during the BS6 transition, and the motorcycle is nearly Rs 30,000 cheaper than the Austrian adventure-tourer. However, along with the lower price tag, the G 310 GS also gets fewer features and less power output than the 390 Adventure. The feature list on the BMW G 310 GS comprises full-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, adjustable levers, and dual-channel ABS. The mechanical specifications include a 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 33.5bhp and 28Nm of peak torque.
Benelli TRK 251 (Rs 2.74 lakh)
The Benelli TRK 251 occupies the space between the KTM 250 Adventure and the 390 Adventure. This quarter-litre motorcycle uses a 249cc, single-cylinder motor that makes 25.8bhp of power and 21.2Nm of peak torque. The feature list comprises full-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and dual-channel ABS. The TRK 502-inspired styling includes a dual-pod headlight, tall windscreen, muscular design, split-style seats, and 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends.
2022 Kawasaki Ninja 300 (Rs 3.37 lakh)
The 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 300 is available in a similar price range as the KTM 390 Adventure. However, unlike the 390 Adventure, the Ninja 300 is a sports tourer and it packs sportier ergonomics than the Austrian motorcycle. While the feature list and power output are not at par with the 390 Adventure, the Ninja 300 comes with a twin-cylinder engine. This 296cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor makes 39bhp and 26.1Nm of peak torque. The feature list includes a halogen headlight setup, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and dual-channel ABS.
Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 (Rs 3.05 lakh)
Royal Enfield’s middleweight, twin-cylinder-powered café racer, the Continental GT 650 is available from Rs 3.05 lakh onwards. The feature list is bare-basic, but the motorcycle brings healthy power and torque output figures in this price range. The 648cc, twin-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine makes 47bhp of power and 52Nm of peak torque. The feature list comprises a halogen headlight, semi-digital instrument cluster, and dual-channel ABS.
2022 KTM RC 390 (Rs 3.14 lakh)
While KTM India is yet to announce the launch of the 2022 RC 390, the company has updated its website with the price of the motorcycle. The 2022 KTM RC 390 will be available at Rs 3.14 lakh, which makes it substantially expensive than the outgoing version, but Rs 21,000 cheaper than the 2022 390 Adventure. Both motorcycles use the same motor. The BS6-compliant 373.23cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine produces 42.9bhp of power at 9,000rpm and 37Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. The feature list, too, is similar and the 2022 RC 390 packs full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster, a traction control system, lean-sensitive ABS, and a quickshifter. The 2022 iteration should be available in the Indian market very soon, and thus we have listed the motorcycle in this list.
