Hi Reader,
I would like provide a brefie review about my brand new TVS Jupiter 125. This will give you an better understanding of this bike and it will help to make disicions if you are willing to buy a new scooter.
Model:
TVS Jupiter has multiple models. Base model has drum brake, next model has disk break and third model has disk break with further enhancement in feature like map assistant, premium seat with back support etc. So I'm a family person with Wife and 2 kids ( elder son is 5 years and second baby is 1 year) hence I was looking for a bike with wider seat, large boot storage, high weight bearing capacity, high mileage in nominal price, hence I prefered disk break TCS Jupiter 125.
Features / Pros:
As I mentioned in my previous note, It has below features
1. Disk Break (Model based).
2. Large Seat ( Even easy for a big family).
3. Large Boot space ( 2 helmets with some items is possile to carry).
4. Auto Mode On/Off Switch (Engine with auto off if the bike is not moving for more than 20 seconds. This is beneficial in Traffic to save Petrol). [There is a big catch in this point. Which I will highlight in Cons section]
5. Hand Break (Much needed when we want to park the scooter in slanding paths)
6. Helmet remainder while starting thne vehicle (Though it's just a static one, I appreciate).
7. Side Stand Indicator.
8. Engine Off when Side Stand is On. (I do have a Con here, we will discuss)
9. Charging Port.
10. Petrol Input is at front (So no need of getting down and opening the boot space like other old model scooters.)
11. Clock Time.
12. Eventhough we are having self start, there is a Kicker.
13. Echo mode and Turbo Mode. (If we raise the accelaretor too much suddenly or Speed needle crossed 60KM/L, Turbo mode will ON. else it will be Echo mode).
14. There is a Error Symbol in the screen which will ON if there are any error/backup recovery happening in the scooter. This is a much important feature out of all, since it will show light whenever motor things there is a error in the ISG / Powerbackup [Here also one catch, will discuss in the Con.]
15. Low Petrol Indicator.
16. It has been providing better mileage of ~56km/l.
17. Cost of the bike is lower than any other bikes with 125CC.
Cons:
Out of the above feature, there are Cons as below
1. Auto Mode On/OFF made my vehicle Off in Trafic but when I press the break and raise accelrator, igintion should On but in my case bike always went to Error Mode and due to that no other option was not working including strtaing the vehicle. Due to this I faced serious issue in main roads of Bangalore. This happened immediatetly once I the started raiding the vehicle. I informed the Showroom people / Service Guys but no one accepeted this. After a serious fight, they accepted that there is an issue in Jupiter 125 new models ISG, which made the vehicle to Error Mode !!!!!!
I was shocked since it was a brand new vehicle and failure in ISG is a product bug. After I replaced ISG under Varenty and now it is working fine. So if any one is going to buy new Jupiter 125, please keep in mind as this problem is very random and you might also be one among them like me.
2. Side Stand was not working within 2 weeks of Purchase:
Side Stand was always on ON due to that engine was not started. Even we pushed it to up, it was going down automatically. It is also an issue with the quality of Jupiter 125 and I lost the confidence on the quality of TVS products nowadays.
3. Eventhough I bought Disk Break model, breaks are working as Drum only. Even after 1st service still it is not upto the mark. Due to this break weakness, I met an Accident and my bike's front chrome and silver panel are broken. I didn't get parts easily from TVS and still one part is pending to repair due to the lack of pproduct at TVS.
4. TVS Service:
The service was very worst and they won't accept the issues that easily. They will try to convience you as much as possible and if you fight to the core and provided more and more proofs lively then they will accept and fix it. So they are able to fix the issues and accepting the issue is a real concern.
5. When talking about Engine performance, Initially vehicle provided loud noise while driving. After first service, now the vehicle is smoother than before.
These are my own experience and I'm not saying you will also face it but this is was happened to me.

Tips for TVS Jupiter 125

1. Definetly change the Oil after 500KM. 2. If any Error shown in the display immeditely give the vechile to Service center and ask them to check for ISG issue. 3. Buy a disk break model as Disk breaki itself working as Drum so I'm not sure how Drum break with work.

  • Feels like a second hand auto!!

    Jagdish

I bought it with a lot of hope after reading the reviews. Used for 3 months and sold. The scooter is good in many ways like under seat storage, suspension, ride quality, comfort and features but it has a very big defect and that is vibrations at low speeds. I wrote 15 emails to the company and left the scooter for repair 4 times. The service staff tried everything to rectify but it was of no use. tested other Jupiters also...all had the same problem
The scooter does not feel premium rather it feels like a second-hand auto that you are riding. There are a lot of vibrations at low speed and it is not at all smooth when u compare it to activa and access which are butter smooth. What is the point of riding a scooter which gives you the feeling of an auto? Trust me...you will not feel that you are riding a premium scooter. Sold and now I am buying a Suzuki Access or Burgman and will never consider a Jupiter. TVS have a lot to learn when it comes to refinement and smoothness for their products from the Japanese competitors.

  • Dont buy TVS Jupiter 125

    Senthilvel

Very the worst bike i ever used in my life.
Seems the parts are old. the noise came from the drum(break) from the purchase date onwards.
To date, it has even been repaired by the service center.
Mileage only 30 to 35. But showing 43+ on the average.
Suddenly the miles got reduced and the points got reduced on the petrol meter.
When I take this bike. The expected km to ride is shown as 93 km. just ride 3 km after that the expected km is shown as 62, etc.
This was happened 3 times to date. ( Only 4 months since I bought this bike) .
I filled the tank fully. after riding 5 to 10 km one point suddenly reduced. it's magic on the board.
I don't recommend this bike. every day I worry about using this bike.

The buying experience was a pretty good price
The riding experience was good until the first 3-4 years but then the problems came such as not getting part and not having much of a mileage problem
Servicing major problem was expensive parts and faulty parts inside the scooter and
Pros are you can ride it within 2-3 km with no issues
Cos is it is not as fast as other scooter.

Change your oil after every 3000 kms, don't change your suspension since it will soon or later be going to be damaged In 2-3 months keep checking your bike since it may bring a load of servicing work if you go after 6 months and all then the parts are not that great.

  • My review sums up all about TVS jupiter

    Venkatakrishna Mukka

I booked the bike, and I wanted the delivery on Sunday as we wanted to take the delivery of the bike on a good day according to our family pandit, the sales manager himself took time for us to deliver the bike on Sunday. I love this bike because it provides comfortable riding and excellent mileage. It also offers ample storage space. Looks are awesome. It’s versatile, reliable, and strikes a perfect balance between performance, comfort, and convenience. The TVS Jupiter 125 is super smooth, with great pick-up and stability at high speeds. It outpaces most 125cc-150cc bikes at traffic lights. TVS’s after-sales service exceeds expectations. Overall, it’s worth every penny. The only con I faced with the bike is the intensity of the light is a bit low compared to geared bikes.

TVS Jupiter scooters are known for their elegant design and practical features. The Jupiter 125 is likely to feature contemporary styling with LED lighting, digital instrument clusters, and ample storage space. Cons:
Potential concerns could include pricing, availability of spare parts, and any unforeseen issues with the new model.

    Tips for other riders

Change your oil after every 3000 kms, don't change your suspension since it will soon or later be going to be damaged In 2-3 months keep checking your bike since it may bring a load of servicing work if you go after 6 months and all then the parts are not that great.

    1. Buying time Give all the services.
    2. Riding Experience is Very Smooth.
    3. Great Look
    4. The Worst Part of the entire Buy after 1st service Vehicle got a company Defect after that entire year there was a Go around to the services centre and many times vehicle was in the Services Center 4-6 days with no solution.
Back to Back many Multiple Defects and even they don't have a Type engineer to work on this Vehicle to catch the Problem services Center is also not Good and congested. and thereafter my vehicle was in the centre after 1st service and drove almost 1800 km from 1000 km and no response for this.
    5. about Pros and Cons The Entire Services Center is full of Cons nothing is Pros.

  • My review sums up all about TVS jupiter
