TVS has launched a new variant of its highest-selling two-wheeler in the country, the XL 100. Called as the XL 100 i-Touch Start, this moped is priced at Rs 36,109 and features an electric starter, USB charger and a unique paint scheme.
The XL 100 i-Touch Start is based on the Heavy Duty variant, with an electric starter and a USB charger for your phone. It is a barebones workhorse, targeted at the rural market and businesses. It gets a split seat, with the provision to remove the rear seat to accommodate more luggage onto the moped. It is powered by a 99cc single-cylinder engine delivering 4.3bhp and 6.5Nm of torque, mated to a single-speed gearbox.
The XL 100 i-Touch Start is available in a unique purple paint scheme apart from the existing six colours. It is Rs 2,450 more expensive than the Heavy Duty variant. For now, the availability is limited to just three regions, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. It does not have any direct competition, although you can get commuter motorcycles like the Bajaj CT100, Hero HF Dawn and the TVS Sport in a similar price range.
