The Kawasaki Ninja 250R has been discontinued from the India market and dealers have stopped taking any bookings for the same. The Pro-Biking dealers have confirmed the update and have also asked to wait for the Ninja 300 which will be launched soon.
The Kawasaki Ninja 250R was first launched in India in 2008 at Rs 2.69 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Ninja 250R wasn’t the first 250cc motorcycle in India, Kinetic used to sell the Comet 250 – But that wasn’t much of a success. The Ninja on the other hand attracted a lot of buyers with its premium feel. After selling the same bike with limited updates for five years, Bajaj Auto has finally pulled the plug on it.
Although there is no official confirmation from Bajaj, it is likely to launch the Ninja 300 on April 10. The motorcycle will be available in two variants – without ABS and with ABS. The prices of the new motorcycle will certainly be more than that of the outgoing version, but we will have to wait for the launch to see the actual increase. Hopefully the jump won’t be much since the previous version is discontinued.
The Kawasaki Ninja 300 is powered by 296cc parallel-twin fuel-injected engine that produces 38.8bhp of power at 11,000rpm and 27Nm of torque. The mill is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and the motorcycle has a kerb weight of 173kg
