Benelli has launched the Tornado 302R and the TRK 502 in Malaysia. Going by Benelli’s track record, we can expect India to be the next one in line to get these motorcycles.
The Benelli TRK 502 is an adventure touring motorcycle. With spoked wheels, long travel suspension and optional touring accessories, the TRK 502 seems like the perfect adventure motorcycle for the Indian roads. It is powered by a 500cc parallel twin engine, which delivers 47bhp and 45Nm of torque. The Tornado 302R on the other hand, will be the first fully faired motorcycle in Benelli’s Indian line-up. The Tornado 302R is a supersport version of the TNT 300 and is based on the same twin-cylinder platform. This powertrain delivers 36bhp and peak torque of 27Nm through a six-speed transmission. Both the motorcycles are offered with ABS as standard.
The Tornado 302R is priced at RM 23,201 (Rs 3.36 lakh), while the TRK 502 demands a premium of MY 30,621 (Rs 4.44 lakh). Both the Tornado 302 and the TRK 502 are expected to go on sale in India in the current quarter. These will be locally assembled at DSK Motowheels’ factory in Wai, Maharashtra.
