Honda has launched the 2023 CB1000R in Japan. The latest iteration of the Japanese neo-retro litre-class offering has received a mild update and is also offered in new trim. Here’s what we know about it.
The 2023 Honda CB1000R retains the round LED headlight with the matte-finished bezel around it. The scooped one-piece seat, single-sided rear fender, aluminum-finished exhaust and alloy wheel design also remain unchanged. Honda has employed a new Bordeaux Red Metallic paint for the standard version and a Graphite Black colour for the other trim. The Black Edition also gets a blacked-out headlight bezel, fuel tank, exhaust cover, and tank shrouds as well.
The 998cc inline four-cylinder motor has also been carried over for the latest iteration. It dishes out 143bhp and 104Nm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The 2023 CB1000R rides on Showa Separate Function Big Piston USD forks and a fully adjustable rear shock. Its braking hardware comprises dual front and a single rear disc with ABS. The latter is mounted on 17-inch alloy wheels.
Honda currently offers the CB1000R in the overseas market only. In Japan, it retails at JPY 16,70,900 (approximately Rs 10.44 lakh sans taxes) while the Black Edition costs JPY 1,716,000 (approximately Rs 10.72 lakh sans taxes). As of now, Honda India has made no announcements of launching the bike here.
