Ducati has updated its product portfolio in the Indian market with the launch of the Panigale V2. The Panigale 959 successor has been priced at Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom India) in the country. In comparison, the Panigale 959 was priced at Rs 15.3 lakh. The bookings for the motorcycle had commenced in July this year for a token amount of Rs 1 lakh.
The new Panigale V2 draws styling cues from its bigger sibling, the Panigale V4. Thus, the styling cues include twin headlamp setup with eyebrow-like LED DRLs, sharp lines across its main fairing, sculpted fuel tank, single-sided swingarm and high-set raked tail section.
The mechanical specifications include a 955cc, twin-cylinder motor. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the engine is tuned to produce152.8bhp of power at 10,750rpm and 104Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. In comparison, the Panigale 959 made 145.3bhp and 102Nm.
The feature list on the Panigale V2 includes 4.3-inch TFT display, bi-directional quick shifter, traction control, cornering ABS, engine brake control and wheelie control. The suspension setup on the Panigale V2 includes 43mm Showa Big Piston Forks at the front, and side-mounted Sachs mono-shock at the rear – both fully adjustable. The motorcycle rides on Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II tyres.
