Ather Energy has introduced a new ride mode for the Ather 450X and the 450 Plus e-scooter. It’s called the SmartEco mode and is being made available gradually to all the scooters under Ather Labs.
Simply put, the SmartEco replaces the Eco mode and allows the scooter to have enough current while overtaking without switching to Ride mode for extra juice. This ensures that the total charge consumption doesn’t exceed 30Wh/km and you get a true range of about 85km for the 450X and 70km for the 450 Plus.
To avail of the SmartEco mode, your scooter has to be updated with the latest version – Atherstack Cylon or later. The smartphone app too has to have the latest version. You can then enable the SmartEco mode through the Ather Labs page on the application’s home screen. Once done, the scooter display gets an additional bar on the left side which changes the colour from blue to red. Blue is for sufficient power (if you need to accelerate) and red is for low charge.
