Ather Energy has launched the 2025 iteration of its oldest-running electric scooter, the 450X. The scooter has received a host of changes along with a price hike.

The 450X is Ather’s mid-level scooter and sits between the most affordable 450S and the most expensive 450 Apex models.
The 450X shares its design with other 450-series scooters from Ather. It looks sporty and has aggressive styling with a youthful appeal. The fascia consists of an LED headlight with LED turn indicators mounted on the handlebar cowl. The scooter gets a single-piece seat with a grab-rail at the rear.
Ather offers the 450X with two battery options – 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh. The smaller battery pack offers 90km of true range whereas the larger one does 110km. That said, the motor output and top speed are the same – 6.4kW and 90kmph – respectively. The charging time for the 3.7kWh battery is five hours and 45 minutes, while the 2.9kWh unit takes eight hours and 36 minutes for a full charge.
The features listed on the Ather 450X consist of LED illumination, 16GB storage, 2GB RAM, seven-inch TFT touchscreen, and CBS. The Pro Pack gives you access to five ride modes – Smart Eco, Eco, Ride, Sport, and Warp – along with Google Maps navigation, document storage, tow and theft notifications, find my scooter, ride stats, push navigation, inter-city trip planner, OTA updates, and more. However, the Pro Pack demands an additional price of Rs. 23,078 for the larger battery pack and Rs. 16,999 for the smaller battery pack.
The hardware on the Ather 450X comprises telescopic front forks and a monoshock. Meanwhile, the brakes include a 200mm front and 190mm rear disc mounted on 12-inch wheels. These alloys are wrapped in 90/90 front and 100/80 rear tyres.
Ather offers the 450X in six colour options – Space Grey, Still White, Salt Green, True Red, Cosmic Black, and Lunar Grey.

Ather Rizta Z — Disappointing Purchase Expeienced

I purchased the Ather Rizta Z with high expectations based on the claims made at the showroom. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing from the very beginning.1. Misleading Range InformationAt the time of purchase, the sales representative clearly stated that the scooter provides a range of 159 km on a full charge. However, after purchasing and charging the vehicle to 100%, the displayed range is only about 125 km. This significant gap between the promised and actual range feels misleading and undermines trust.2. Rapid Battery DrainThe battery performance has been another major concern. During real-world usage, the battery is discharging much faster than expected. For approximately 30 km of riding, the battery range drops by around 38 km, which is far from efficient and raises concerns about long-term usability and reliability.3. Poor Delivery ConditionTo make matters worse, the scooter was delivered with a damaged rear bracket. Receiving a brand-new vehicle in a defective condition reflects poorly on quality control and delivery standards.Overall ImpressionDue to inaccurate claims, unsatisfactory battery performance, and poor delivery condition, my experience with the Ather Rizta Z has been highly disappointing. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this scooter to others.

Utterly waste of money

I’ve been facing repeated issues with my Ather scooter since purchase, and the post-sales service has been consistently disappointing.Most recently, I handed over my vehicle to the Ather service center (Ambattur) on the 5th and received it back after nearly two weeks. During this period, there was no meaningful service carried out on the issues I had reported. The vehicle was returned with only a basic wash/polish. More concerning, the battery level dropped significantly while the vehicle was in the service centre’s custody (from around ~80% when handed over to ~15–20% at delivery). For a vehicle that was not in my use, this raises serious concerns about how customer vehicles are handled.What’s also troubling is that during the initial service, no “issues” were identified. Only later were new concerns suddenly raised, which creates a lack of trust in the diagnostic and quality-check process. It feels inconsistent and reactive rather than thorough and transparent.Customer support has been uncoordinated. Each time I spoke to a different representative, I was asked to repeat my concerns because previous notes were either incomplete or missing. This results in unnecessary delays and frustration, and it does not feel customer-centric. There is no proper handover between support agents, which makes resolution slower than it should be.Overall, while the product itself has good features, the service experience has not met expectations. Repeated delays, unclear diagnostics, poor communication, and concerns about how vehicles are handled during service have seriously impacted my trust. I hope Ather improves service quality, documentation, and accountability at service centres.

I am disappointed by the poor quality of maintenance and the significant delays in service. Furthermore, the expiration date of the warranty was not disclosed, leaving me without a clear reference for the future. My charger got damaged a few days earlier of warrenty period. No stand-by charger provided during the period.

Bike is ok but the service is not working They will not respond otherwise the ather was perfect and the performance was also nice the 1 and 2 service will to fast because they will not do anything. ost around 3500 so be careful, ather family.The 450X is the king of electric scooter performance, offering thrilling speed, sharp handling, and a great smart dashboard. Price is high, and the suspension is very stiff for city bumps. Ideal for tech-savvy thrill-seekers.

Ather EVs are great for city rides and handling all your daily needs. They are also a good choice for students. You can conveniently charge at home (in your society) or use the company-provided fast chargers available at multiple locations. Service is fairly easy to manage as well. The 450X even has a Sport mode, which gives you that bike-like feel. Overall, my experience has been good so far with Ather.

The handling, comfort, and stability are amazing, whether I’m navigating through city traffic or cruising on highways. It’s smooth, powerful, and fun to ride every single day.City & Highway Riding:One of the biggest advantages of the 450X Pro is its ease of riding. In Delhi-NCR traffic, where stop-and-go is the norm, the scooter handles beautifully. On highways, too, it doesn’t disappoint; it feels sturdy and gives the confidence you admire.Design & Looks:The aerodynamic design and stylish looks make it stand out instantly. It’s modern, sleek, and honestly one of the best-looking EVs on the road today.Range & Charging:If there’s one area that needs improvement, it’s the range. I usually get around 100 km on a full charge, which works for most users, but for me, it falls a bit short. My daily commute is about 80 km, which means I need to charge it every single day. For a city like Delhi-NCR, where distances are long, I feel the range should ideally be around 160–180 km on a single charge to truly eliminate range anxiety.Final Verdict:Despite the range limitation, I absolutely love this scooter. From riding quality to performance, from city convenience to highway comfort, the Ather 450X Pro delivers on all fronts. Riding my Ather 450 x for 2.5 years and 30,000 km has been a joy. Smooth, peppy, and mileage is almost true to the dash. Love the futuristic display and physical key. Service is super convenient. Only tip-keep tyres well-inflated; Michelin rear tyres work best!" The maintenance is also quite low compared to the competition. The reliability is also good.

Again my vehicle has got some problem definitely this is I can say the something wrong work has done in my ather vehicle because how can I say is, in my first service I got portable charger problem in my vehicle after first service and your staff has mentioned in phone and when he phoned me and said if I didn't take the delivery in the same day the portable charger will be issued to another vehicle and I raised the question against that, he charged me the parking amount. Before that the lady staff she didn't tell the parking amount and she only informed the lock change amount 1300 something, even I paid the parking amount the vehicle repair didn't completed and the charger came after 20 or 25 days only so how can they charge me the parking amount.

very expensive in the long run

I have 450x. I spent 15000 rupees just for a faulty right indicator. guys, you can estimate repair costs for other general repairs. I didn't save a single rupee by purchasing this EV. I spent even more money than on petrol bikes. This EV is only for climate activists who want to contribute to a greener environment at any cost. I regret buying this vehicle very deeply.
