- Honda CT 125 Hunter Cub launched in Japan

The Honda CT125 Hunter Cub was showcased at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show as a concept. Now, five months later, the manufacturer has launched the production version in Japan.
The Hunter Cub is based on one of Honda’s most iconic models- the Super Cub. However, unlike the latter’s retro styling, the Hunter Cub gets an off-road friendly design similar to the concept. It sports blacked-out, 17-inch spoke wheels that are shod with dual-sport rubber.
Moreover, the Hunter Cub offers a high-set exhaust, engine sump guard, high mounted air intake and a ground clearance of 165mm that propagates its trail-riding abilities. Honda has also plonked in a luggage rack behind the single-piece seat for added utility.
Honda has equipped the Hunter Cub boasts of features like full-LED lighting for the headlamp, turn signals and tail lamp along with a digital instrument cluster and single-channel ABS. Powering the moped is a 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor with a fuel-injection system. The engine produces 8.6bhp and 11Nm and comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox.
Honda will be targeting the CT125 Hunter Cub at Southeast Asian markets where mopeds have a larger market. And it is unlikely to be launched in India anytime soon.
