Honda working on a new CBR1000RR for 2019

- Will debut next year
- To reportedly get a V4 engine
- Will feature LED lamps and revised bodywork

Honda is reportedly working on the next-generation CBR1000RR, which will be unveiled in 2019. A Japanese media house has rendered the motorcycle, saying that the CBR1000RR will finally move to a V4 powertrain in this iteration.
The rendering shows the motorcycle featuring much sharper styling. It will also get narrow slits for headlamps, featuring LED units. The fairing integrates winglets, similar to what MotoGP bikes have been using of late. The new CBR1000RR will also get a new V4 powertrain, which should finally help the ‘Blade breach the 200 horsepower mark.
Rumours about the CBR1000RR Fireblade getting a V4 powertrain have been doing rounds for more than half a decade now. For 2017, Honda introduced a long-overdue update for the CBR1000RR, although it still didn’t feel on par with the competition as far as the power output and electronics go. Now though, it seems like the MY2017 update was just a stop-gap measure until the all-new motorcycle was ready for 2019.
