Yamaha Motor India has announced the launch of the 2023 YZF-R15 in our market. The latest iteration of the motorcycle benefits from hardware updates to comply with the newest emission norms. At the same time, Yamaha Motor India has updated the colour palette for the standard version with the addition of a new paint theme. Have the mechanical specifications changed on the 2023 Yamaha YZF-R15 V4?
The 2023 iteration of the KTM RC125-rival retains the 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) system. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, this motor is tuned to deliver a maximum output of 18.1bhp at 10,000rpm and a peak torque of 14.2Nm at 7,500rpm. While the specifications remain similar to the previous version, the 2023 model benefits from an onboard diagnostics (OBD-II) system that is aimed to display any errors in the vehicle system.
What are the colour options on the 2023 Yamaha YZF-R15 V4?
Apart from the mechanical upgrades mentioned above, the company has introduced the Intensity White paint theme to the standard variant of the motorcycle. With this, YZF-R15 V4 is available in four colours – Metallic Red, Dark Knight, Racing Blue, and the new Intensity White. Notably, the M variant of the YZF-R15 is available in a single paint theme – Metallic Grey. As reported earlier, all paint themes get different decals and contrasting shades for the alloy wheels.

What features are available on the 2023 Yamaha YZF-R15 V4?
The standard model packs a projector-style LED headlight, Bluetooth-enabled LCD instrument cluster, dual-channel ABS, two modes (Track and Road), a traction control system, and a quick-shifter. Notably, the quick-shifter is available as an accessory for Dark Knight and Metallic Red paint themes, while the rest of the options get it as standard fitment. Further, the M variant benefits from LED turn indicators and a colour-TFT display.
What hardware does the 2023 Yamaha YZF-R15 use?
The hardware is identical across the range, and the complete YZF-R15 series uses a delta-box frame. The suspension duties are handled by 37mm (inner tube diameter) upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock. The anchoring setup includes a 282mm single disc at the front and a 220mm single rotor at the back. The 17-inch alloy wheels are shod in 100/80-section front and 140/70-section rear tyres. Other key dimensions on the motorcycle include an 11-litre fuel tank, 141kg kerb weight, 170mm of ground clearance, and 815mm of seat height.
