2021 Triumph Bonneville Bobber: Top 5 highlights

The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has been playing a spoilsport for a lot of bike makers. Several new launches are being pushed ahead due to this disruption. However, it hasn’t stopped Triumph from launching the 2021 edition of the Bonneville Bobber in India. The motorcycle has received subtle yet desirable updates over its predecessor. And in that case, we tell you the top five highlights of the 2021 Bobber.

Styling

The styling of the Bonneville Bobber has remained unaltered and we are glad for that. With a low-slung profile, chunky tyres, small round headlamp, a floating seat, and bar-end mirrors, it’s a quintessential British bobber with looks worth admiring. What’s new though is the black powder-coated finishing on the engine cover, cam covers and sprocket cover.

Features

The Bobber, just like most other Triumphs, is decently equipped with modern rider aids. There are features like two riding modes (Road and Rain), traction control system, dual channel ABS, and cruise control. The headlamp and tail lamp house LEDs while the round analogue console houses a small LCD at the centre.

Engine

While the engine of the Bobber is the same, Triumph says the torque delivery is more linear and smoother than before. It runs on a 1,200cc, parallel-twin engine that churns out 76.9bhp at 6,100rpm and 106Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox.

Cycle parts

There are a number of changes in its hardware. Firstly, it has done away with the larger 19-inch front wheel and now rides on a 16-inch wheel up front. Even the suspension set up is revised as it gets new 47mm Showa cartridge forks and a link-type monoshock. As for the braking setup, while the rear uses the same 265mm single disc with a Nissin caliper, there are twin 310mm discs with new axial Brembo calipers. Lastly, the 8 litre fuel tank has been replaced by a larger 12 litre unit.

Price

With the aforementioned updates, the price of the 2021 Bonneville Bobber has gone by as much as Rs 1.5 lakh over the outgoing iteration. Triumph has priced it at Rs 11.75 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
