Hey y'all! Figured I'd make a short little post here if at all anyone comes looking for info on the showroom and purchase experience of the Triumph Speed 400. Some F.Y.I deets here - * Total price is 2,95,870 INR (Dhanbad on-road, inclusive of the 2k booking charge). * You need your booking ID receipt, Aadhaar Card and PAN card for the full purchase. That's it. * If you plan on taking the bike via EMI, you'll have to pay 9.9% interest. Insurance Provider: IFFCO TOKIO * The Sales Rep didn't give a cost breakdown. When I asked him, he just seemed mildly annoyed and literally wrote some figures on a piece of paper lol. I did some snooping around and was able to find the breakdown on a printed sheet (Road tax is 46,553. Registration charges - 1188. Handling charges - 1500. Insurance - 23,632. Ex-showroom bike cost - 2,23,997 First impressions: The tank is a lot bigger than what we can perceive via pics/videos and you have to stretch your arms a bit to hold the handlebars. The instrument cluster is simple and easy to read even when riding. I'm not so enthusiastic about the bar end mirrors but they do the job well (of providing an excellent rear view) The bike is supposed to have a 790 mm seat height. Though I was not as flat-footed sitting on it as I had hoped. The seat is soft and mushy, especially as compared to KTMs. While it feels comfortable at start, I'm not so sure that it will stay comfortable over longer rides. The bike is 170 kgs and you can feel the weight when riding (especially for me coming from a KTM) but it's pretty flickable in city traffic. Finally, the engine and power delivery. Though 400 cc and 40 ps but the power delivery felt a bit sluggish and in line with the intended competition for the bike, i.e. the RE Meteor 350 and the Honda H'ness. I'm sure it will perform better than both these bikes, however I've always been an adrenaline junkie and this bike doesn't produce power in the same aggressive fashion as the KTMs!! What's essential and not up to one taste: Engine refinement (for a single) - 9/10 Fit and finish - 10/10 Suspension - 10/10 Brake - 7/10 Clutch assist - 8/10 Electronic aids - 8/10 Handling - 10/10 Features and Speedo console - 5/10 Fuel economy - 9/10 What's up to individual taste: Look and design - 10/10 Accessories and options - 5/10 Exhaust note (for a single) - 9/10 Delivery experience - 0/10 Seat comfort - 8/10

In love with the power available on tap. My average speed is now higher than what it was earlier as the Scrambler loves to pick up speed on demand. The power delivery is very linear and not scary. A lot of reviewers have suggested that the sweet spot for highways is between 100-110, I felt that the bike is least strained between 60-80km/hr. The seating is higher so the view over traffic is much better than my old commuter. The bike actually gives the feeling of riding a big bike but is nimble enough to glide through traffic. The matt green khaki color is a looker.

The bike is absolutely fun to ride. Can be used for daily commutes as well as leisure rides on weekends. I have maintained the bike with utmost care. The bike has been serviced twice only at an authorized Triumph service center. The bike was never involved in an accident. The reason for selling the bike is that I wish to upgrade to a larger bike. The treads on the tires are very well intact which shows that the bike was never involved in rash riding. The bike is fitted with Triumph original accessories such as a crash guard and radiator guard.

Not a general concept bike, this is kind of style statement happy to own one has its own set of issues and limitation like all bikes but it do gives that adrenaline rush in signal to signal push. Just me and the bike that's all. Not for touring or offroading but city and short highway burst anytime of the day, apparently gives a good mileage just highway 25-24 km/ltr and city 17-18 and bumper to bumper 14 on worst case case scenario
