    Intro

For years, Rynox has been doing wonders in the world of road riding gear and also luggage and accessories. They are currently the market leader, and it looks like, they will continue to be for many years. Over the last few years, the off-road motorcycle segment has grown tremendously, thanks to bikes such as the Hero Xpulse 200, Royal Enfield Himalayan, and also the KTM 390 Adventure. A lot of my friends used their road gear when they took their bikes off-road – blame the lack of such gear in the market. But Rynox has finally made its presence felt. It has launched a series of gear – the Quest Pro protective base layer being one of them.

    The Construction

The Quest Pro looks like an extremely breathable base layer. It is made of materials that allow it to stretch in all directions, and also provide good comfort. Rynox claims that they wanted to make a protective layer with skin-fit but also provides great comfort. This construction allows the absorption of moisture from the body.

There are multiple impact areas around the base layer. For the upper layer, there are shoulder and elbow guards. There’s also protection for the back, chest, and the rib cage. The lower base layer has protection for the hip, tailbone, and thigh. While the hip gets the Knox level 2 protector, the tailbone and thigh get level 1 and impact foam, respectively. The guards on the shoulder and elbow are level 2 ones, whereas the chest gets a level 1 protection and the rib cage just gets an impact foam.

    The Features

These base layers offer full stretchability and also come with UV protection. The upper base layer is also neck brace-compatible. The gear gets some reflective panels that could help in low-light visibility.

    What's next?

I will be using the Rynox Quest Pro along with the Raid off-road gear almost every weekend. I plan to ride on some tight trails and also on sand. These rides are expected to showcase the real performance of the Quest Pro.
