Yamaha domestic sales for August grow by 24 per cent

Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. announced that their sales figures for August 2014 show a hike of 24 per cent. The company sold 53,242 units last month, while they had sold 42,995 units in the same month last year, in India.

The company has not given a model wise breakup of the sales figures but looking at the past few months, the manufacturer is showing an upward sales growth trend. Yamaha launched the new scooter Alpha in the first half of this year adding it to range that comprises the Ray and Ray-Z. The company recently also launched the refreshed versions of the FZ series of motorcycles. The FZ Version 2.0 and FZ-S Version 2.0 are the new variants that have helped the company boost their sales numbers.

Roy Kurian, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd, said, “This month has seen only an extension of our continued success month after month. Our scooter offerings, especially ‘Alpha’, have been a catalyst in giving us good numbers in addition to our popular motorcycle lineup. We have a strong presence in the 150cc deluxe segment and our FZ series is the second largest selling brand in the deluxe segment. The launches of FZ Version 2.0 and FZ-S Version 2.0 have further spurred our sales. Moreover, ahead of the festive season we are quite confident about continuing our growth story in the coming months as well with our innovative product line up and exciting customer engagement initiatives.”

Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd., a separate sister concern of India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd, is catering to the company’s sales and marketing needs since April 2013 in our country.
