Vespa 946
Piaggio has unveiled the most premium scooter from their portfolio, the Vespa 946 for the Indian market. The scooter will be launched in India by the end of this fiscal year.
The Vespa 946 will go on sale in India through the completely-built-unit (CBU) route and will not be available off the shelf but on order only. The company’s strategy is to sell the iconic scooter to build the brand and not really increase the sales numbers. More than 52,000 scooters have been delivered to customers since its launch last year. With the introduction of this scooter in the Indian market, the manufacturer might help them get some real exclusivity as it will be the most expensive scooter available in India after its launch.
The Vespa 946 is powered by a 125cc four-stroke single cylinder engine that produces 12bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 10.33Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. The scooter has a body made of sheet steel nd aluminium elements. The company claims that the design has been inspired from the World War-2 era Vespa MP6 prototype. The two-wheeler is equipped with factory-fitted ABS system and ASR traction control system. It features LED headlamps, LED indicators, a full LCD dashboard, 12-inch wheels, disc brakes at the front and rear, all of which add to the stunning appearance of the scooter.
