Bengaluru based startup, Ather, which unveiled the 340 and 450 in June has commenced deliveries of the latter in the city.
With the first lot delivered, the company will carry deliveries of the rest of the pre-orders in batches over the coming months. Ather Energy is offering a first of its kind subscription plan called the Ather One along with its vehicles for a hassle-free experience. This plan covers data costs, charging costs both at home and in public and also includes periodic doorstep service of the vehicles and cost of common spare parts.
The company plans to install more charging docks in Bengaluru wherein 22 docks are already available. It also plans to expand the AtherGrid to Chennai by 2019 before moving on to other cities.
The Ather 340 which is priced at Rs 1.10 lakhs is powered by a 5kW electric motor that produces 20Nm of torque with a top speed of 70kmph. Meanwhile the 450 gets a more powerful motor which is rated at 20.5Nm of torque. The 450 claims a top speed of 80kmph, stealing the title from the Okinawa Praise as the fastest electric scooter in India. It costs Rs 1.25 lakhs. (All prices on-road Bengaluru).
