TVS’ long-running Scooty brand has just received a comprehensive dose of upgrade with the debut of the new Scooty Zest at the ongoing 2014 Auto Expo. Built on the same platform that underpins the current Scooty line-up that includes the Pep + and the Streak, the Zest uses an 110cc engine air-cooled, single cylinder CVT-I engine that produces 8bhp and 8Nm of torque. The Scooty Zest’s engine is mated to a V-Matic CVT gearbox which is also found in the Wego.
The Scooty Zest gets best-in-class, 10-litre under-seat storage and also gets a back-lit speedometer which the company claims it first in its class. The company claims an ARAI fuel efficiency of 62kmpl. The Scooty Zest will compete with the segment leader, the Honda Activa along with Hero Dash and Dare and also with Suzuki's Let’s. TVS hasn’t announced the price yet but we are expecting this scooter to be launched in India by April.
