Cleveland Cycle Werks is a motorcycle manufacturer with a difference: it builds small capacity machines that usually have to meet a low price target, but have also got to be stylish enough to be desirable. It was founded in 2009 by Scott Colosimo, Jarrod Streng and Curtis Ray in the USA. Its range consists of motorcycles like tha Misfit and tha Heist, but for the Indian consumer the 'tha' has been dropped, as has the (tha?) Heist. Instead the range will start off with the Misfit and the Ace Deluxe. Both of these models run a simple air-cooled 250cc single cylinder motor, but there are high-teach bits like upside down front forks and a 300mm front petal disc brake. Manufacturing and assembly for CCW happens in China. It will remain a niche brand, and will compete in principle with the other leisure-riding brands like Royal Enfield's Classic 350 and Thunderbird 350, UM Motorcycle's Renegade range, the Bajaj Dominar 400 and the Mahindra Mojo.
