TVS Motor Company has launched the new ZX variant of the Jupiter BS6 with a front disc brake, a feature which was not available in the scooter until now. Another new addition is TVS’ i-Touchstart technology which is essentially a silent starter. This variant has been priced at Rs 69,052 (ex-showroom, Delhi) which keeps it close to the fancy Classic edition of the Jupiter.
Besides the inclusion of a front disc brake and a silent starter setup, the new Jupiter ZX model also comes equipped with an all-in-one lock mechanism. This comprises of ignition, steering lock, seat lock and fuel tank cap opener within a single key hole. TVS has launched this version of the Jupiter in three colour options – Matte Starlight Blue, Starlight Blue and Royal Wine.
The TVS Jupiter ZX disc remains the same as the rest of the variants in all other aspects. Powering the scooter is a 109.7cc, air-cooled engine which churns out 7.3bhp at 7,000rpm and 8.4Nm at 5,500rpm. The scooter rides on 12-inch wheels at both ends which are suspended by telescopic forks and a monoshock. The feature list of the Jupiter comprises of LED headlamp, USB charger and 21-litre boot and a 6-litre fuel tank.
