Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) have launched their new scooter, the Activa-i at an event in Delhi at Rs 44,200 (ex-showroom Delhi). This new scooter will sit below the current Activa which is priced at Rs 47,204 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The new scooter is powered by a 109.2cc engine that produces 8bhp of power and 8.74Nm of torque. This engine has been fitted with the Japanese manufacturer’s Eco Technology (HET) that helps the scooter achieve a company claimed fuel efficiency of 60kmpl.

The Activa-I features Combi Brake System (CBS) but is only offered with drums on both wheels. Other features include tubeless tyres, maintenance free battery along with an 18-litres storage area under the seat which is enough for a full face helmet. It also gets a decent sized rear hugger fender and muffler. The Activa-i will be available in four colours – white, purple, red and beige.

The Japanese two-wheeler maker has reduced the weight of the Activa-i to 103kgs to make it light weight.Bookings for the scooter will start by end of the month across all Honda dealerships in the country.
