Don't waste your hard earned money on this Honda shine bs6 bike. Because it has gearbox problems like if you down shift the bike it stucks and makes lot of noise. Bike pickup is average for 2 persons but single riding gives more pickup and performance. Mileage 45km/l in city, 50km/l on highways . Better to buy splendor plus for mileage or pulsar for performance.

Hey guys I am going to give a detailed 7 year ownership review of my Shine bike. The review will cover all the points you need to know before buying this bike.
1.Why I chose Shine :- First of all I wanted a good commuter bike which will give me good mileage in city and is also good for occasional highway rides. There were many options in the market before me to consider in this category but the high sales, engine refinement of Honda tempted me to go with Shine.
2.Design & Styling :- The design of the bike is perfect for a commuter bike. The fuel tank is not so big and the bike offers good turning radius.
3.Suspension :- The suspension setup of bike is good offering good comfort to the rider as well as the pillion. Overall the suspension is on the softer side and does pretty good job.
4.Seating Comfort :- The bike comes with single seat. The seating position of rider is upright and very comfortable while pillion seat is also quite comfortable but not good for long rides...
5.Ground Clearance :- The bike offers good ground clearance for Indian roads & it is sufficient for every type of roads.
6.Engine :- I believe the engine is the heart of this bike. I have not faced many issues regarding the engine. Engine is very refined and smooth. The riding experience & ride quality is smooth.I am getting mileage of about 45-55 km/l.The bike has good pickup for a commuter bike. You can comfortably cruise at 60-70 km/h on highways.
7.Vibrations :- Although the engine is smooth for city rides with smooth gear-shifting.The vibrations start to creep in once you go above 60 km/h as it is a commuter bike not made for high speeds.
8.Braking :- The bike comes with drum as well as front disc brake variant. I have drum brakes variant. The brakes of this bike give good confidence but once you cross 70 km/h it becomes quite difficult to stop the bike as it is not made for very high speeds.Overall braking bite & feedback is good for a 125cc commuter.
9.Conclusion :- So in the end I would say this is the Best commuter bike in 125cc segment. The bike is very reliable with smooth and refined engine. Go for it without hesitation if you are looking for a good commuter bike for family and office purpose.

I purchase honda shine disc - in july-15.

Firstly why i select shine - before purchasing i read many bad reviews regarding this bike.

But few friends using shine since 4-5 years recommend.

Now after using shine for almost 4 month, run 4000 km; i regret that it was wrong decision to buy shine. As i am facing many issues.

Few parts was rusted on new bike(like bkts, bolts). When i complaint this to showroom they says, from honda they receive bike like this.(Some one can imagine my situation; i purchased new bike with rusted parts).

The cold start - huge issue with this bike and no solution at service center; bajaj, hero and tvs bike are much better.

Vibrates at above 50km/hr - engine also make noise, misfire.

Gear sifting also not smooth and noisy - stuck between 3rd to 4th many time.

Suspension is pathetic - this bike is not for long run.

Mileage is around 55kmpl on highway.

My guess- reason for bad quality - honda is now using many localize parts, so not able to maintain quality as like few years back.

Overall - don't buy honda shine. Search another better option.

Its been 7 months, i bought the motorcycle. Talking about the looks, i wouldn't call it attractive it's okay though. This bike isn't meant to be looks and performance. It is meant to be economic and it is. I get a mileage of around 55kmpl to 60kmpl. I ride for 60kms daily and never have had any serious issues other than flat tires. Gear shifting is so satisfying compared to hero glamour, cd deluxe, splendor etc. There are vibrations as you get around 80kmph and tops at 96kmph. Pros: mileage, cheap, less and inexpensive maintenance. Cons: indicator buzzer is annoyingly loud and i have no complaints with this after considering the price and after comparing it with motorcycles of the same price range.

after 100 km it stops by seeing it the petrol was over
and gear shift is very struggle
after completing 100 km the engine sound is very bad
