- Honda registers NX200

Honda India had applied to trademark a new motorcycle brand – NX200. This was done in March 2021 and the company has already received to use and advertise this brand.
With this development, one thing is clear – Honda is planning to launch a 200cc motorcycle in India. However, there’s no information on what kind of bike this would be. Rumours in this web world suggests that the company will launch an adventure bike. There’s a chance that this could be true but this bike could also be a Hornet 2.0 with some minor additions like bigger body panels and maybe some rugged looking cycle parts.
While we do like the idea of a new 200cc motorcycle from Honda, we wish it could be something like the Hero XPulse 200. This Hero motorcycle has proved to be extremely value for money and capable. Plus, the market has accepted this product well and the company has been able to sell it in decent numbers. We are very sure that Honda would be watching this product and space quite closely. And with a 200cc platform already with them, they have an option of developing another product on this chassis.
We are expecting the Japanese maker to unveil this new NX200 brand late next month or early September to cater to the festive demand.
