Hero MotoCorp partners with Zero to make electric motorcycles

-         Hero invests in Zero motorcycles

-         Will co-develop an electric motorcycle

-         Hero has a partnership with Gogoro, Ather

Hero MotoCorp is in the process of finalizing an agreement with the American electric motorcycle maker – Zero Motorcycles. This new partnership will focus on co-developing electric motorcycles and also powertrains.

The Gurgaon-based manufacturer will also invest $60 million in Zero Motorcycles. With this development, it is clear that Hero MotoCorp has an aggressive electric vehicle plan. The company also has tied up with Gogoro – an EV company from Taiwan and invested in Ather Energy – a company that sells e-scooters known for its performance and tech.

Zero Motorcycles is known for its high-performance electric motorcycles. Currently, the brand has a presence in almost all segments. It sells electric street bikes, and dual sports and recently entered the adventure touring segment as well.

This new development clearly shows how brands like Hero MotoCorp are betting big in the EV space. We are expecting the first co-developed electric motorcycle to come from this partnership in three to four years.
