Cheaper Mahindra Mojo UT300 variant spotted

A cut-price model of Mahindra’s flagship model, the Mojo has been spotted at a dealership. Called the Mojo UT300 (Universal Tourer), this variant is a cheaper version of the Mojo 300, which has been rebranded to Mojo XT300 where XT stands for Xtreme Tourer.

The Mojo UT300 has been priced at Rs 1.5 lakhs (ex-showroom Pune), which is Rs 25,000 cheaper than the XT300. This new variant misses out on a few premium components like upside-down forks, fuel-injection, DRLs and the sticky Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres. It is equipped with the traditional telescopic forks, carburetion and MRF Zapper tyres with 140/70/17 front 110/70/17 profiles. The bike also gets single exhaust instead of the dual ones. The bike also misses out on the gold finish on the frame.

Mahindra is clear that it wants to focus only on premium motorcycles like Mojo. Its mass market brands like the Centuro and the Gusto didn’t do well, due to which the company decided to put less focus and efforts in these segments. Now with the introduction of a cheaper Mojo variant, the company wants to garner more sales that will also help its dealers with better sales and after-sales revenue.

Mahindra is yet to release the official launch date for this bike. But we believe that, the company would showcase the Mojo UT300 at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo.
