Hero Xpulse 200T 4V Review: Image Gallery

Soon after launching the Xpulse 200 4V,Hero MotoCorp has brought in its sibling, the Xpulse 200T, in the 4V setup. It’s aimed at buyers who want a more commuter-oriented setup with a dash of sportiness. We recently tested the Hero Xpulse 200T 4V, and here we will review it through these images.

The Xpulse 200T looks quite fresh and appealing with the new cosmetic tweaks. This paint scheme of red with black complements the neo-retro styling. Moreover, the engine head case is also painted red, which matches the overall theme. We like the subtle elements such as the petal disc, small front visor, and wide handlebar, as they contribute to the sporty feel of the 200T.

While the overall build quality here is up to the mark, the switchgear setup lacks the finishing. The plastic quality is not up to the mark too, and the markings don’t seem durable either.

Hero has powered the Xpulse 200T with a single-cylinder 199.6cc motor producing 18.83bhp and 17.3Nm. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox, and the biggest change made to it is the four-valve setup.

Right from the get-go, the bike feels snatchy at the lower rev range until around 2,000rpm. But once you cross the said mark, the power delivery is quite sprightly, and the acceleration is brisk. You can go as high as 9,000rpm without any hesitation from the motor.

We even like the Xpulse 200T’s engine tractability, as you can ride a gear higher at low speeds. This makes it easy to filter through the city traffic without having to work the gearbox. For reference, you can ride as low as 25-30kmph in the fifth gear and the bike would still pick up speeds from there.

Hero has used the same diamond-type frame for the Xpulse 200T and suspended it on gaitered telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. We found that the Xpulse 200T rides a little firm, but the damping is right how it should be. It rides over speed bumps, potholes, and bridge joints with ease, without you having to second guess and slow down.

The new 17-inch alloys have enhanced the Xpulse 200T’s agility. You can switch lanes from left to right with minimum effort without having to worry about stability. The MRF Revz tyres offer enough grip, and the braking hardware is also reliable.

During our fuel efficiency test, the Xpulse 200T was ridden in moderate traffic conditions with speeds of 60kmph and around. And it returned a mileage of 43.18kmpl, which is quite decent.
