Energica Motors is planning to debut in India. The Italian company makes high-performance premium electric motorcycles and also has a presence in racing.
According to a report, the Italian has received some interest from a few Indian two-wheeler companies. While the company didn’t mention the names, the top honcho said these companies are well-established players.
Energica currently sells a range of electric motorcycles in Europe. The range consists of a sports tourer, street bike and also a sports bike. However, these bikes are packed with performance and features and as a result, are priced quite high.
Recently, Hero MotoCorp invested in Zero Motorcycles, another high-performance electric bike company. These developments are making me believe that there are a few Indian brands that want to sell such expensive EVs in India. Maybe there’s a market for such products.
