This review is my personal experience with the bike. It should be useful to you.This review wont provide any tech. Specs . If you are reading this means you must have basic information about cbr250r i have a non-abs version but i suggest you to go for an abs one. May you wait for a month or two but abs is worth for the wait.Pros :1) the acceleration of the bike is biggie. It will not disappoint you. 0-100 about 9 seconds (tested by me) . I bet hardly a few vehicles can catch you when you are off the signal. You will definitely love this.2) the wind shield : not like any ordinary bike the wind shield really serves the purpose (only at very high speeds) . You hide behind the wind shield once you cross 130kmph and you can see its magic. Speed will increase because of better aerodynamics.# my personal experience : full throttle open and bike was topping at 148 kmph. I crouched on the tank (hiding behind the windshield) and could see the difference. I managed to hit 155kmph.3) the suspension is spot on . For riders who don't know : cbr has got different modes of suspension rated for 1 to 5. You can change the settings with a simple spanner. 1 to 5 is smooth to hard . By default it is set for 2 which is optimum for city riding.4) you should not be looking at mileage aspect when you are buying a sports bike. But cbr proves that concept wrong. You should be getting a mileage of 27-36 kmpl which is pretty decent for a quarter liter bike.5) exhaust sound : cbr sounds like a normal conventional bike when the bike is running under 4000rpm. You cross 5000rpm and people around you will find your presence. The bike sounds like a sport one and eventually it is one.If you want to get a big loud sound then you can remove the air filter cover that is placed beneath your seat. The bike will roar like hell. Remember its the cover not the air filter.Cons :1) the second gear is a big disappointment for the bike. The torque is low and you would hate that when you are driving in cities.2) tail lamp build is cheap and conventional honda type. Could have been better.3) the turning radius : bike has little more turning radius than you would expect. You will get used to it.4) you can see the wiring for the headlamps when you are sitting on the driver seat ( a cheap look)5) the contigo rear tire is not up to the mark. It is below the par level. I felt that fz-16 (my previous bike) had better grip when compared to this one.To do/ not to do stuff :1) i can bet that the initial days will be struggling for you to handle the bike. The seating is a crouching type ( you have to bend a bit) . So for the first few days you will be having shoulder pains. Do not panic . Your body has to be adjusted to the new seating posture.Explanation : when you ride the normal indian bikes ; the whole torso weight is distributed around your spine (which is a common sitting posture) but here in cbr you have to bend a little and drive hence the torso weight falls on your shoulders which in-turn start aching. You should give sometime to your shoulders to strengthen . 500km on the odo and i think that is enough to get you in the comfortable zone.2) you will be surprised to find that there is no center stand for the baby fire-blade . Reason is pretty simple. Sports bikes do not have center stand.3) do not rip up the engine for the first 500-700 km . Give sometime for the engine to be tuned. Be smooth on acceleration and do not cross 5000-6000rpm. Reason : the piston and cylinder have nano-particles left over them (very minute particles left after manufacturing of these parts). Hence the engine oil need to remove all these minute particles from the engine. If you rip up the engine frequently there is a possibility that those particles may scratch up the cylinder liners or piston skirt which eventually damages your engine. The engine oil change is done at 1st servicing. Once the oil is changed you can start the game.Things to buy for the bike :you would be shelling out 2 lakhs for the bike. So why not a little more for accessories ???must buy / do things :1) extended warranty - rs.12002) honda road assistance - rs 300/per yr (honda service center will pick up your bike no matter where it is - in case of accident/bike not starting. If you dont buy the road assistance package you have to pay for transportation charges which can be much more expensive)3) helmet a must (for any city) - preferably ls2 (rs: 2800-3000) /agv (rs: 4500 starting) helmet. Its a shame to ride a sports bike without a proper helmet.You will find it useful once you join this. Big cities have cbr250r city groups which are pretty helpful.Optional accessories to buy :1) riding gloves : spartan ( starts at rs 3000) / pro-biking : (rs 350-600)2) riding jacket : spartan / fox . Starting from rs 5500. You can get fox for 1200 3) frame slider - rs 1500 - rs 15000 ( depends on brand)4 rear stand - rs 2000 to rs 30005) dunlop rear tire - around rs 3000 (if your looking for some sporty action)6) chain lube - rs 650 - rs 800.

होंडा CBR250R पर टिप्स

I serviced my chain before the winter and had it lubed and perfectly cleaned. I kept it under a Nelson rigg defender cover all wintry and since I’ve taken the cover off and started riding it again this year the chain is rusted again. I haven’t taken the time and energy to reclean it and was wondering if it’s ok for the chain to have a little rust on it. Also when I bought the bike shortly after I had an oil change done and they filled the tires since then I haven’t had to mess with them but they seem like they could be low so I went to the gas station to fill them to what 29 psi which is what I read was the recommended and I couldn’t get the gas station air valve to fit and was wondering how you guys pump your tires? I change oil normally after every 3 months or 1000Km.

    It was a nice experience buying this bike and a nice service from Honda.
    The riding experience is also very nice sometimes feel less power on the highway but overall it's pretty good.
    Looks are amazing
    Service and maintenance are also very affordable spare parts are easily available.
    Overall it's a nice bike with the refined engine by Honda but sometimes feels less power.

    I've been using CBR250R ABS for more than half a decade now. I'll categorize my review: Performance: The bike is smooth initially (typical Honda) but as soon as you cross 6K rpm, the Bike shoots a boost of power. The torque is really good from the mid to high range, particularly from 6K to 9K, The front wheel wants to lift & I get goosebumps. The Honda engine is very smooth, stress-free & reliable, never got broken or overheated thanks to liquid cooling, zero problems with the radiator. Breaks: I bought the ABS version, It gets Nissin calipers which are one the Top best breaks in terms of quality & reliability in the segment, The breaks never ever disappoint me unless the tyres are bad.

Servicing and Maintenance are a bit expensive side. Pros - Very refined, reliable engine and ultimate machine for long-touring. Cons - Spare Parts availability, inadequate service centers

    It's a 2019 model & is discontinued now.
    The best part of riding is its handling which is great the bike looks hulky but it can be passed from small gaps especially helpful in Mumbai traffic. The seating position is also comfortable can ride for hours. The ABS is amazing. The stickers on fearing are also at their best. The top speed I had reached yet is 158 KMPH on Mumbai - Ahmedabad National Highway. After-sales experience is also good from Honda & till now there is no such major work in the bike. Also, the engine is the liquid-cooled cherry on the cake. The average of bikes is 26 KMPL.
    Cons - The Look of the Mirror & Indicator should be something kind of sporty.

    Cbr 250r was my first bike since college and I've had it since 2012. The bike hasn't let me down in terms of quality and the build of the vehicle. 10 years and 70k kms later the engine is just as smooth and rides like a dream. Easily the best investment made even though people claimed it was way too expensive for a bike in 2012.

    Overall great driving experience. The bike's top speed goes up to 150-160 on highways. Although on regular basis in traffic easily runs between 70-100 kmph. Balancing and buildup quality are excellent. It's also reliable, very cheap to run, has a good build quality, looks smart and is comfortable to ride.

    Owning an abs variant of cbr250r since 2014, clocked over 45,000 kms and the engine is still going strong. Crashed hard a few times but the build quality is rock solid with minimal vibrations at the top end even after 7 years.
    The looks of the bike is inspired directly by its elder sibling the 1200f and though the cbr now looks a bit dated against its new rivals, it is never even an inch lower in making a style statement of its own even today.
    Ride quality is brilliant with suspension being on bit of the softer side. You can easily cruise on highways with the speeds between 120-140 km/h for a long time without the engine breaking a sweat.
    Delivery experience was delightful but the only issue still prevalent is the spare parts availability.
    Maintenance is minimal to moderate as long as you keep this bike running and in use, once you stall it for like over an year or so, it can easily burn a hole in your pocket.
    Though I personally never cared about mileage much, you can expect around 23 km/l in city and 28 km/l on the highways if you are a throttle freak and love to push the bike to its limits.
    Would've really appreciated if Honda continued this beautiful machine under the bsvi norms but cannot blame them either because of the poor sales.
    Still can't figure out why this bike failed to make a cut in the indian market as I have never come across anyone who doesn't have some liking for this bike or a owner who has had issues with it.
    Anyway it was an amazing experience owning this bike and I will definitely look upto Honda again for bigger displacement bikes in future. They've made sure that i stay a happy customer during my ownership of their wonderful machine.

    Regular service recommended by authorized Honda dealers at every 6k to 8k kms or once a year, although the bike can forgive even if you miss these milestones. Timely servicing though is always recommended.

    Everything is excellent in this bike but one thing that I miss in it, that is gear indicator, it doesn't show that in which gear we are riding it.
    If I talk about it's look, really amazing. I think it is the best motorcycle in this 250cc segment. It requires very less maintenance cost. It is just my superbike for me.

    I have owned cbr250r for 7 years now and riden it over 45k kms. Taken it on long rides and used it in daily mumbai traffic commute to office and back. I can say, there are very little segment of motorcycle can do all this as good as good old cbr250.
    Back in the day India had only cbr250, ktm 390 and Kawasaki 300 to choose from. Kawasaki was way too expensive, 390 was unrefined & non reliable engine and had heating issues. The only motorcycle made sense was cbr, enough power to take you past 160kmph with reliability of Honda, low maintenance cost, easy on pocket (2.10 on road in 2014) and amazing ergonomics for those long highway tours.
    When I am not riding it, i keep thinking of upgrading it to some higher capacity motorcycle for amazing touring experience and once i am on cbr riding it, it gets me back to reality that I already have a wonderful machine.
    Although it looks dated now, with no upgrade other than just the headlight, i think i am owning a legend and part of limited owners group :)
    The pros list is long. Only con is there is hardly any 3rd party accessories maker who makes accessories for cbr. I am looking for custom made back rest for my wife for so long, and i am not able to get anyone who makes it.
    If you own this motorcycle, don't sell it off. It's another hall of fame motorcycle.

    Do the general service of the motorcycle every 6 months, use 100% synthetic oil and lube the chain every 500kms. I use K&N air filter which is easy to maintain and reusable. I think the motorcycle will run effortlessly.

    Overall great driving experience. The bike's top speed goes up to 150-160 on highways. Although on regular basis in traffic easily runs between 70-100 kmph. Balancing and buildup quality are excellent. It's also reliable, very cheap to run, has a good build quality, looks smart and is comfortable to ride.

    Owning an abs variant of cbr250r since 2014, clocked over 45,000 kms and the engine is still going strong. Crashed hard a few times but the build quality is rock solid with minimal vibrations at the top end even after 7 years.
    The looks of the bike is inspired directly by its elder sibling the 1200f and though the cbr now looks a bit dated against its new rivals, it is never even an inch lower in making a style statement of its own even today.
    Ride quality is brilliant with suspension being on bit of the softer side. You can easily cruise on highways with the speeds between 120-140 km/h for a long time without the engine breaking a sweat.
    Delivery experience was delightful but the only issue still prevalent is the spare parts availability.
    Maintenance is minimal to moderate as long as you keep this bike running and in use, once you stall it for like over an year or so, it can easily burn a hole in your pocket.
    Though I personally never cared about mileage much, you can expect around 23 km/l in city and 28 km/l on the highways if you are a throttle freak and love to push the bike to its limits.
    Would've really appreciated if Honda continued this beautiful machine under the bsvi norms but cannot blame them either because of the poor sales.
    Still can't figure out why this bike failed to make a cut in the indian market as I have never come across anyone who doesn't have some liking for this bike or a owner who has had issues with it.
    Anyway it was an amazing experience owning this bike and I will definitely look upto Honda again for bigger displacement bikes in future. They've made sure that i stay a happy customer during my ownership of their wonderful machine.

    Regular service recommended by authorized Honda dealers at every 6k to 8k kms or once a year, although the bike can forgive even if you miss these milestones. Timely servicing though is always recommended.

    Everything is excellent in this bike but one thing that I miss in it, that is gear indicator, it doesn't show that in which gear we are riding it.
    If I talk about it's look, really amazing. I think it is the best motorcycle in this 250cc segment. It requires very less maintenance cost. It is just my superbike for me.

    I have owned cbr250r for 7 years now and riden it over 45k kms. Taken it on long rides and used it in daily mumbai traffic commute to office and back. I can say, there are very little segment of motorcycle can do all this as good as good old cbr250.
    Back in the day India had only cbr250, ktm 390 and Kawasaki 300 to choose from. Kawasaki was way too expensive, 390 was unrefined & non reliable engine and had heating issues. The only motorcycle made sense was cbr, enough power to take you past 160kmph with reliability of Honda, low maintenance cost, easy on pocket (2.10 on road in 2014) and amazing ergonomics for those long highway tours.
    When I am not riding it, i keep thinking of upgrading it to some higher capacity motorcycle for amazing touring experience and once i am on cbr riding it, it gets me back to reality that I already have a wonderful machine.
    Although it looks dated now, with no upgrade other than just the headlight, i think i am owning a legend and part of limited owners group :)
    The pros list is long. Only con is there is hardly any 3rd party accessories maker who makes accessories for cbr. I am looking for custom made back rest for my wife for so long, and i am not able to get anyone who makes it.
    If you own this motorcycle, don't sell it off. It's another hall of fame motorcycle.

    Do the general service of the motorcycle every 6 months, use 100% synthetic oil and lube the chain every 500kms. I use K&N air filter which is easy to maintain and reusable. I think the motorcycle will run effortlessly.

    The riding experience is also very nice sometimes feel less power on the highway but overall it's pretty good.
    Looks are amazing

    I've been using CBR250R ABS for more than half a decade now. I'll categorize my review: Performance: The bike is smooth initially (typical Honda) but as soon as you cross 6K rpm, the Bike shoots a boost of power. The torque is really good from the mid to high range, particularly from 6K to 9K, The front wheel wants to lift & I get goosebumps. The Honda engine is very smooth, stress-free & reliable, never got broken or overheated thanks to liquid cooling, zero problems with the radiator. Breaks: I bought the ABS version, It gets Nissin calipers which are one the Top best breaks in terms of quality & reliability in the segment, The breaks never ever disappoint me unless the tyres are bad.

    It's a 2019 model & is discontinued now.
    The best part of riding is its handling which is great the bike looks hulky but it can be passed from small gaps especially helpful in Mumbai traffic. The seating position is also comfortable can ride for hours. The ABS is amazing. The stickers on fearing are also at their best. The top speed I had reached yet is 158 KMPH on Mumbai - Ahmedabad National Highway. After-sales experience is also good from Honda & till now there is no such major work in the bike. Also, the engine is the liquid-cooled cherry on the cake. The average of bikes is 26 KMPL.
    Cons - The Look of the Mirror & Indicator should be something kind of sporty.

  • Cbr 250r the queen of Indian roads!

    Cbr 250r was my first bike since college and I've had it since 2012. The bike hasn't let me down in terms of quality and the build of the vehicle. 10 years and 70k kms later the engine is just as smooth and rides like a dream. Easily the best investment made even though people claimed it was way too expensive for a bike in 2012.

    Overall great driving experience. The bike's top speed goes up to 150-160 on highways. Although on regular basis in traffic easily runs between 70-100 kmph. Balancing and buildup quality are excellent. It's also reliable, very cheap to run, has a good build quality, looks smart and is comfortable to ride.

  • The Highway King!

    Owning an abs variant of cbr250r since 2014, clocked over 45,000 kms and the engine is still going strong. Crashed hard a few times but the build quality is rock solid with minimal vibrations at the top end even after 7 years.
    The looks of the bike is inspired directly by its elder sibling the 1200f and though the cbr now looks a bit dated against its new rivals, it is never even an inch lower in making a style statement of its own even today.
    Ride quality is brilliant with suspension being on bit of the softer side. You can easily cruise on highways with the speeds between 120-140 km/h for a long time without the engine breaking a sweat.
    Delivery experience was delightful but the only issue still prevalent is the spare parts availability.
    Maintenance is minimal to moderate as long as you keep this bike running and in use, once you stall it for like over an year or so, it can easily burn a hole in your pocket.
    Though I personally never cared about mileage much, you can expect around 23 km/l in city and 28 km/l on the highways if you are a throttle freak and love to push the bike to its limits.
    Would've really appreciated if Honda continued this beautiful machine under the bsvi norms but cannot blame them either because of the poor sales.
    Still can't figure out why this bike failed to make a cut in the indian market as I have never come across anyone who doesn't have some liking for this bike or a owner who has had issues with it.
    Anyway it was an amazing experience owning this bike and I will definitely look upto Honda again for bigger displacement bikes in future. They've made sure that i stay a happy customer during my ownership of their wonderful machine.

    Regular service recommended by authorized Honda dealers at every 6k to 8k kms or once a year, although the bike can forgive even if you miss these milestones. Timely servicing though is always recommended.

    Everything is excellent in this bike but one thing that I miss in it, that is gear indicator, it doesn't show that in which gear we are riding it.
    If I talk about it's look, really amazing. I think it is the best motorcycle in this 250cc segment. It requires very less maintenance cost. It is just my superbike for me.

  • A hall of fame motorcycle!

    I have owned cbr250r for 7 years now and riden it over 45k kms. Taken it on long rides and used it in daily mumbai traffic commute to office and back. I can say, there are very little segment of motorcycle can do all this as good as good old cbr250.
    Back in the day India had only cbr250, ktm 390 and Kawasaki 300 to choose from. Kawasaki was way too expensive, 390 was unrefined & non reliable engine and had heating issues. The only motorcycle made sense was cbr, enough power to take you past 160kmph with reliability of Honda, low maintenance cost, easy on pocket (2.10 on road in 2014) and amazing ergonomics for those long highway tours.
    When I am not riding it, i keep thinking of upgrading it to some higher capacity motorcycle for amazing touring experience and once i am on cbr riding it, it gets me back to reality that I already have a wonderful machine.
    Although it looks dated now, with no upgrade other than just the headlight, i think i am owning a legend and part of limited owners group :)
    The pros list is long. Only con is there is hardly any 3rd party accessories maker who makes accessories for cbr. I am looking for custom made back rest for my wife for so long, and i am not able to get anyone who makes it.
    If you own this motorcycle, don't sell it off. It's another hall of fame motorcycle.

    Do the general service of the motorcycle every 6 months, use 100% synthetic oil and lube the chain every 500kms. I use K&N air filter which is easy to maintain and reusable. I think the motorcycle will run effortlessly.
