The most reliable and safest scooter!

Firstly, bikewale is very reliable as I have checked this website for my purchase decision. The on-road price in Bangalore was around ₹1.18 lakhs. Although this scooter is launched in competition with TVS Ntorq, Suzuki has given importance to converting all drawbacks of Ntorq into positive ones in Avenis. Ride experience is more practical rather than some fancy features. Bluetooth connectivity for navigation is an intelligent move. I would give the biggest credit to the braking system, which was my saviour on several occasions. Just immediately as soon as I took delivery of this scooter, some foolish auto guy crossed without indication, almost causing an accident. The braking system was so precise that it stopped instantly, preventing the accident. Ntorque still comes with CBS while Avenis has ABS. This makes Avenis a most safest scooter. Ntorque's instant speed pickup is just an illusion, which is prone to cause accidents. Avenis looks pretty cool. The service experience was pretty good for me. Speed picks up gradually. ECO mode is another bonus for better mileage. The only con i would say is Suzuki is pretty irresponsible when it comes to feedback on the Suzuki Ride Connect mobile app. The app is not up to the mark, missing so many essential features. Needs a lot of work. Suzuki doesn't even bother to look into this.

To Buy or Not To Buy Suzuki Avenis 125

Was looking for a second-hand scooter for a short grocery commute for my Senior citizen father, checked a few here and there but was not satisfied with the price vs conditions after thorough research felt a New scooter would be much beneficial and a worry-free purchase. Researched online for a daily commute scooter with practical use features. As I already owned a 2015 Honda Activa 3G, another Activa was ruled out also it would be a featureless purchase. Was waiting for a Maxi scooter from Honda but the wait is never-ending. Had listed out Yamaha Aerox, TVS Ntorq, Suzuki Burgman and Ather 450x and was in love with Aerox with all its suspension & plastic quality demerits. The only thing that kept me away from buying Aerox was the ease of availability at the Showroom and later its usability for my father as it was also one of the reasons to buy a scooter and not a bike. Dropped Aerox due to cost and plastic quality issues and to avoid compulsive buying. While researching for other 125 cc scooters came across Suzuki Avenis, it had almost all the features if not all for a comfortable commute. With sporty looks and mileage more than most other scooters, turn-by-turn navigation, full digital display and pockets on both sides for small stuff make it the ideal scooter for family & younger generation. Experience at the showroom was a roller-coaster ride, with all good and one bad experience. Came in to check out Avenis and was impressed with the looks and features which one or the other scooters missed. It was sold to me within an hour, with delivery promised the next day morning. The only downside was I was told 8% interest but the same came to around 17% which in that glitter I missed calculating myself. Also I was promised free Accessories like a Helmet, floor mat, indicator buzzer, side step, seat cover, handle bar grip & 3ltrs Fuel all was which was honoured just the helmet was non-genuine. Great Looks! It’s a Head-turner, especially the Grey-Green combo, never expected people to stand and stare at a Scooter. But hey all that glitter is not gold, it too has its share of issues along with Pros. Let’s start with Pro's->Above 55kmpl Mileage (got max 67kmpl on Highway)> Sporty Aggressive Looks> Good under-seat storage space can fit a basic full-face Helmet.> 2 Hooks for your groceries in front.> 1 Closed Glove box with USB charging & 1 bottle holder on either side > Good suspensions much smoother rides in Tar Road.>Good riding posture for the Rider & and a step-up seat for the Pillion. Now the Con's Read carefully as for some issues I have not found a single review highlighting these issues.> Starter Noise is way too loud (my 7-year-old Activa is much quieter).> Cluster Display buttons are very hard to press even harder when to need to long press for reset, this is something missed by all reviewers.> Engine Noise though it's smooth It doesn't feel/sound refined or like new.> Hand Brake is too tight to operate, in two months not even a single time I have been able to engage hand brake even by using 2 hands.> Turn By Turn Navigation requires you to study the Turn symbols beforehand with only major destination available in search (Map my India)> Don't know if it’s the main stand placement or the hollow wide grab rail which makes it difficult to put the scooter in the main stand.> No Pass or Hazard or Auto Start/stop.The main turn-off was during the first Service had highlighted the issues with the service center but for Suzuki the Starter and engine noise, tight handbrake and hard-to-press cluster buttons are normal and nothing can be done for the same. The First Service was done at 750km and required an Oil Change with the overall cost coming to around ₹400/-. The My Suzuki App is just okay with nothing much to offer, would be of much use if had a fuel log or provided actual riding data which is available with other manufacturers.Overall I still feel it’s a better Scooter with a mix of all elements like style, comfort and mileage. One Ride on Tar road highway and you sold.
