- Yamaha FZ-X specs leaked online
- Might retain the same 149cc engine
- Wheelbase to remain same as the FZ
Yamaha FZ-X specifications have leaked online and the type approval certificate could be of the same bike that was spied testing earlier. Yamaha seems to be extending its FZ portfolio by adding FZ-X as an additional variant. Meanwhile, the bike could be priced slightly higher than the FZ FI.
The spy shots suggest that the bike might have a modern-retro styling which will appeal to a particular set of audience in India. It can also be seen that the bike has a single piece seat, rectangular tail section, oval shaped mirrors, centre set foot pegs and a tyre hugger.
Considering the leaked type approval certificate, the bike will retain the similar 149cc motor which produces around 12.2bhp of power at 7250rpm and a twist of 13.6Nm at 5500rpm. Hardware such as 17 inch alloys, 282mm front disc, 220mm rear disc, single channel ABS, front telescopic fork and seven-step adjustable suspension at the rear might be carried from the FZ range.
Based on the type approval certificate it can be seen that the FZ-X will be 30mm longer, 35mm taller and 5mm lesser in width compared to the FZ. Meanwhile, the wheelbase remains the same at 1330mm. Yamaha is also likely to be testing the XSR 250 which might have different frame, wheels and body panels than the FZ-X. Image Source : RushLane
