Getting a well-designed retro-fitment kit for differently-abled and senior citizen motorcyclists can be quite a challenging task. However, it seems that this could soon be a thing of the past as Hosur-based TVS Motor Company has launched a retro-fitment kit to make commuting of two wheels for these buyers a lot better and safer. Priced at Rs 11,237, the retro-fitment kit is currently available only for the XL 100 moped model range in the company’s product portfolio. The retro-fitment kit is approved by the ARAI and is designed to provide comfort and safety to the occupants.
The kit has been designed and developed in-house by the company with six mounting points for a secure fit. The fenders used to cover the additional wheel are made from 16inch gauge sheet metal while the frame structure is designed for better control and stability. Furthermore, the optimal width of the fitment ensures stability when in motion. The overall light-weight construction has a lesser drop in performance due to added weight while the four Armstrong suspension units help keep the vehicle stable even on bad roads. The kit has provision for keeping crutches and also footrests for pillion passengers.
While the kit is currently available only for the XL 100, we expect TVS to introduce similar retro-fitment kits for other products in the portfolio soon.
