- Power and torque output figures revealed by a leaked brochure
- To be available in two colour options
- India launch scheduled on 26 January, 2021
Triumph Motorcycles will reveal the new Speed Triple 1200 RS on 26 January, 2021. The British marquee managed to keep the details under wraps, although motoring portal Asphalt and Rubber got their hands on the technical specifications of the upcoming roadster.
As per the details revealed by the website, the new Speed Triple 1200 RS will use a 1,160cc, inline three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that will deliver a healthy 177.5bhp of maximum power at 10,750rpm and 125Nm of peak torque at 9,000rpm.
Apart from the technical specifications, the leaked brochure also revealed the colour options for the motorcycle. The new Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS will be offered in two colours – Saphire Black and Matt Silver Ice. Most of the styling details were revealed by spy photographs last year, although the motorcycle in the brochure is seen with a conventionally mounted exhaust outlet. The test mule, on the other hand, was seen with a compact unit.
Other features on the upcoming motorcycle include bar-end mounted rear-view mirrors, rear cowl, and a single-sided swingarm. The hardware comprises of Ohlins-sourced upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock to perform the suspension tasks. The braking setup uses Brembo-sourced callipers on both wheels.
The motorcycle will be fully revealed on 26 January, 2021 while its India launch has been scheduled for 28 January, 2021.
