One can easily associate the term Fast and Furious with the new Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS. The naked roadster is priced at Rs 16.95 lakh ex-showroom (Mumbai) and is available in two colour options: Sapphire Black and Matt Silver Ice. The new Speed Triple 1200 RS is a sharp and aggressive looking motorcycle. It gets a sharp headlamp unit, Triumph and RS graphics on its 15.5-litre fuel tank, golden coloured front forks, an underbelly pan, chunky exhaust with a metal cover, single-piece seat and mirrors at the end of the handlebar.
It further comes with features like all LED lights, a five-inch TFT instrument cluster, cornering ABS, a switchable traction control system, five riding modes, wheelie control, cruise control, a quick shifter and a slipper clutch.
Powering the BS6 Speed Triple 1200 RS is an inline three-cylinder liquid-cooled 1160cc engine that sits in an aluminium frame and delivers 177.5bhp at 10,750rpm and 120Nm at 9,000rpm. All this power and torque is taken to its wheels via a six-speed gearbox.
The ride here is taken care of by 43mm Öhlins USD forks at the front and Öhlins TTX36 twin tube monoshock with preload suspension at the rear.
For braking, it employs a 320mm floating dual-disc with Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers at the front and a single 220mn disc with a Brembo twin-piston caliper at the rear.
The bike comes equipped with 17-inch wheels on both ends. The front wheel is wrapped with a tyre having 120mm of width. Meanwhile, the rear wheel is wrapped with a tyre having 190mm of width.
Finally, moving to the dimensions, the bike has a wheelbase of 1445mm and stands 1089mm tall with a width of 792mm. The seat height here is kept at 830mm and the wet weight of the bike is 198kg.
