KTM 125 Duke price hiked for the third time in three months

- Price hiked by Rs 5,000

- Now retails at Rs 1.30 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi)

- Could be due to a rise in manufacturing cost

The KTM 125 Duke is now dearer by Rs 5,000 as the manufacturer has hiked the price of the motorcycle for the third time in three months. It now retails at Rs 1.30 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

KTM had launched the 125 Duke in November 2018 with an introductory price of Rs 1.18 lakhs. The company went on to revise the pricing for the first time, increasing it by Rs 6,835 in March. The second instance was in April when KTM increased the prices of its entire range wherein the 125 Duke received a nominal hike of Rs 250.  KTM attributes this hike in pricing to the ever-increasing manufacturing costs.

Nevertheless, the KTM 125 Duke has been the cash cow for the company outselling the 200 Duke, 390 Duke and 250 Duke combined for the past six months. The 125 Duke is not only affordable and accessible; it also offers the same hardware than its bigger sibling, the KTM 200 Duke offers. However, with its new pricing, it comes precariously close to its biggest rival, the Yamaha MT-15 which retails at Rs 1.36 lakhs and has been clocking impressive numbers too.
