Husqvarna registers 163-unit sales in its first month in India

- Official bookings opened in February

- Available at Rs 1.80 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom Delhi)

- Shares the engine and underpinnings with KTM 250 Duke

Husqvarna has registered 163-unit sales in the Indian market in its debut month. While the company announced the launch of its first two motorcycles in the Indian market, the Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250, in late February 2020, select dealerships had begun the pre-booking process well in advance.

Both motorcycles are currently available at an introductory price tag of Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The quarter-litre bikes are the first products from the Swedish two-wheeler brand to reach the Indian market while the 401 series is likely to arrive later this year.

The Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250 share their underpinnings and engine with the KTM 250 Duke. The two motorcycles are distinguished by their respective styling. The Vitpilen 250 gets a café-racer design while the Svartpilen 250 features scrambler-inspired styling.

Engine specifications on the quarter-litre Husqvarna models include a 248cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that produces 29.6bhp and 24Nm. The engine is linked to a six-speed transmission. The hardware on the Husqvarna 250s, too, is similar to the 250 Duke, and thus the Swedish bikes use disc brakes at both wheels, dual-channel ABS inverted front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock.

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250 are sold via KTM dealerships across various cities.
