While Hero MotoCorp commenced the despatch of BS IV models of most of its range a few weeks ago, dealerships haven’t received any word about the 2017 Hunk. This might be an indication that the 150cc commuter bike has been discontinued.
Hero currently has two other motorcycles in its 150cc line up – the Achiever and the Xtreme Sports. While the Achiever is an entry-level 150cc model, there is hardly any difference in price between the Hunk and the Xtreme Sports. Sales of Hero Hunk have been dropping since the past few months, and reached a new low of 90 units in February 2017. The Achiever and Xtreme Sports, on the other hand, have been accruing consistent sales numbers.
So while Hero has been updating its range with BS IV-compliant engines, the Hunk seems to have been axed from the lineup. We are awaiting an official response from Hero MotoCorp on whether the Hunk has indeed been discontinued.
