Ather Rizta Z vs Vida V1 Pro – Competition Check

Ather’s latest electric scooter launch was the Rizta. It is not only the newest model from the EV maker but also a completely different scooter than what Ather has offered so far. The Rizta is offered in two variants – S and Z – and is a family-oriented scooter. It rivals the TVS iQube S, Vida V1 Pro and a few other names in this space.

So, we have compared the top-spec Rizta Z with the flagship Vida scooter, the V1 Pro.

Design

It’s quite evident that the styling for both, Rizta Z and the V1 Pro are targeted towards different audiences. The Rizta, as mentioned above, gets a more conservative design approach with its boxy bodywork and large proportions. On the other hand, the V1 Pro looks more futuristic, youthful and a tad sporty too.

That said, both electric scooters look attractive and practical.

Features

Ather Rizta TFT / Instrument Cluster

Ather has loaded the Rizta Z with a bevvy of features including ride modes – Smart, Eco and Zip – traction control, mobile charging, auto hold and reverse mode. All of these parameters can be monitored on the fully digital instrument console. It also packs smartphone connectivity for Google Maps, displays live traffic data and allows auto reply to calls and WhatsApp preview. The Rizta Z also uses a Magic Twist feature to slow down the scooter without engaging the brakes using regenerative braking. The only catch here is Ather offers these electronic aids on the Rizta Z with the purchase of Pro Pack which comes at an additional cost of Rs. 20,000.

Vida has equipped the V1 Pro with a colour TFT screen, navigation, anti-theft alarm, geofencing, vehicle diagnostics, cruise control, two-way throttle, incoming call alerts, and four ride modes – Eco, Ride, Sport, and Custom. Both scooters get plenty of features and are an even match.

Motor and Battery

Powering the Ather RIzta Z is a 4.3kW motor and a 3.7kWh battery. It offers a 160km range and an 80kmph top speed. Vida offers the V1 Pro with two removable 1.97kWh batteries mated to a 6kW motor (peak power). The setup claims to offer an 80kmph top speed and 110km range.

Hardware

Both scooters ride on telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock. Even the front disc and rear drum brake hardware are quite similar. The two EVs ride on 12-inch wheels.

Price

The asking price for the Ather Rizta Z is Rs. 1,44,999 and Rs. 20,000 more for the Pro Pack. Meanwhile, the Vida V1 Pro costs Rs. 1.30 lakh (both ex-showroom, Delhi). The Ather Rizta is notably more expensive but it offers more range and few more features.
