- 2020 Himalayan teased
- Will get BS6 engine
- Likely to get new instrument cluster, switchable ABS
Royal Enfield has released a teaser video on its social media channels. This video is of the 2020 Himalayan that is expected to be launched in the next few days.
The company has been selling the Himalayan in the BS4 format in India. But now, with this teaser video, it makes us believe that the 2020 Himalayan will get more than just a BS6 compliant motor. So expect this Himalayan to get additional features over the outgoing model in the form of a better instrument cluster and new paint schemes. It is also likely to come with switchable ABS along with hazard switch.
The 410cc motor will be BS6 compliant, but expect it to churn out a little less power compared to the current model. This motor is likely to be more refined and it will be the same story with the gearbox. The company could also use better cycle parts for this Himalayan.
In terms of pricing, there will be a significant hike. Currently, the Himalayan retails at 1.81 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). We are expecting this figure to reach close to Rs 2 lakhs with the BS6 update.
