Honda India has decided to register the design of the CBR150R in India. The company filed this application late last year.
This design trademark doesn’t necessarily mean it will relaunch this brand in India, even though it makes perfect sense to do it as currently the Yamaha YZF R15 has no potent rival. Over the last few years, Honda has been registering multiple motorcycles and scooters including some EVs in India. This is being done as the Japanese brand had vision to have most of their products and its technologies registered in India for future use.
The current generation of the CBR150R is one stunning looking motorcycle. It draws inspiration from its bigger siblings and that is why it gets some aggressive design lines. The CBR150R makes around 17bhp of peak power from a 149cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine. This engine produces maximum torque of 14.4Nm at 7000rpm. While the overall power is marginally less than its Yamaha rival, its torque is slightly better.
Honda recently relaunched the CB300R in the Indian market. So this clearly suggests that they are open to relaunching old models. If that is the case, then we might see the CBR150R coming back to Indian market.
