2024 Triumph Daytona 660 expected to launch soon

- Launch expected around end of February or mid March 2024

- Based on the Trident 660 platform

- Powered by an inline-triple engine that makes 95bhp and 65Nm

The new Triumph Daytona 660 broke cover a few weeks ago and it has now been listed officially on Triumph's Indian website, indicating that its launch is imminent. While a specific date has not been revealed the price of the Daytona 660 may be announced around the end of February or mid March 2024.

The Triumph Daytona 660 is the company’s new supersport and as the numbers suggest, it is based on the Trident 660 platform. While it bears the iconic, “Daytona” name, it is nowhere near as focused and committed as the Triumph Daytona 675 that was once on sale in India. Nevertheless, the Daytona 660 is tasked with drawing in customers who want a fully-faired motorcycle without it being too demanding.

The highlights of the Daytona 660 include a sharp, sporty design that harks back to the Daytona 675’s. Underneath the bodywork, you’ve got a tubular steel perimeter frame that is suspended by a Showa 41mm USD and a preload adjustable monoshock. Braking duties are taken care of by twin 310mm discs at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear.

The Daytona 660 is powered by a 660c, inline-triple engine that produces 95bhp at 11,250rpm and 69Nm at 8,250rpm. But, what’s notable is that 80 percent of the torque is available at 3,125rpm. That should translate to easy rideability.

Coming to the features, the bike gets LED lights all around, Bluetooth connectivity and three ride modes- Rain, Road and Sport. Other safety features include dual-channel ABS and traction control.

Triumph is expected to price the bike around Rs.9 to 9.25 lakh, ex-showroom. Once launched in India, it will go up against the Kawasaki Ninja 650, the Honda CBR650R and the Yamaha R7 that is also expected to go on sale sometime this year.
