- Nine per cent growth in domestic scooter sales

- Two-wheeler exports grew by 22 per cent
TVS motor company has registered an overall sales growth of six per cent for the month of December 2018. In the two-wheeler department, the company has registered an overall sales growth of four per cent with 258,709 units sold in December 2018 compared to 247,591 units in December 2017. Of those numbers, domestic sales alone has reported a growth of one per cent by managing to sell 209,906 units in December 2018 in correspondence to 207,739 units in December 2017.
The scooter sales have grown by nine per cent from 83,638 in December 2017 to 91,480 units in December 2018 while the sale of geared motorcycles has grown by 13 per cent from 95,246 units in December 2017 to 107,189 units in December 2018.
For exports, TVS reported an overall growth of 26 per cent, out of which, two-wheeler exports stood at 22 per cent. The company managed to export 48,803 units in December 2018 as compared to 39,852 units in corresponding last year.
