TVS clocks 13 per cent growth in March

TVS Motor Company has registered a healthy 13 per cent growth in March 2016 for their two-wheelers sales, as compared to the same period in the last year. The company sold just over 2 lakh motorcycles and scooters in the last month, helping it hold on to the fourth spot in the Indian two-wheeler market.

In the domestic market, TVS recorded a whopping  19.6 per cent surge in two-wheeler sales. Of these, motorcycles sales jumped by 13 per cent while the scooters performed even better, registering an 24.7 per cent jump in sales. Export numbers however, went down by 19.2 per cent while three-wheeler sales also experienced a 46 per cent decline.

Thanks to frequent upgrades and introduction of new models, TVS demand in commuter motorcycle and scooter segments has been gradually picking up pace since the past few months. The Star City Plus and the Scooty Zest have been turned out to be a huge success, thus helping it boost its overall market share. The company has been launching the Victor regionally which should further help the company strengthen its commuter motorcycle sales.  For performance enthusiasts, we can expect the company to introduce its own streetfighter and supersport version of the BMW G310R.
