- Street Triple R priced at Rs 8.84 lakh
- Gets 116bhp motor
- Available in two paint schemes
Triumph Motorcycles has launched the Street Triple R in India. It is priced at Rs 8.84 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) making it a whopping Rs 2.49 lakh cheaper than the top-spec Street Triple RS variant.
This is the first time the British maker has launched the Street Triple R version in India. The RS variant is one of the best motorcycles in the segment. So it looks like the company wanted to make this streetfighter more accessible but with good equipment.
For the 2020, the motorcycle gets updated design and a BS6-compliant motor. The styling cues include aggressively-styled twin-pod LED headlamps with LED DRLs, redesigned tank shrouds and a sleeker tail section. Mechanical specifications include a 765cc, inline three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 116bhp of maximum power and 77Nm of peak torque. The same motor on the flagship Street Triple model, for reference, makes 121.36bhp and 77Nm of torque. In terms of features, this Triumph gets quick shifter, three riding modes, traction control system, ABS and LCD instrument screen.
The bookings for this bike has commenced at all Triumph showrooms with deliveries expected to happen by the end of this month. The company is offering the Street Triple R in two paint schemes – sapphire black and matt silver ice.
