- Will feature a fixed frame-mounted fairing
- Will be powered by a liquid-cooled V-twin motor
- Will rival against the Harley-Davidson Road Glide
Spy images of a new Indian Motorcycle cruiser have surfaced on the internet suggesting that the American bike maker has been working on a new model for a while now. We say that because the spied motorcycle seemed to be nearly production-ready stage with all the body panels and components in proper fitment including the war bonnet on the front fender. The highlight of the spied cruiser was the fixed frame-mounted fairing and an all-new liquid-cooled V-twin motor.
While there are no specific details of the motor yet, reports suggest that the V-twin engine is expected to have a displacement of 1770cc and will be capable of producing around 120bhp. However, the company had filed a patent for a new engine back in May 2017 which was later approved by the US Patent and Trademark Office in March 2019. A comparision between the design of the patented engine image and the one of the spied motorcycle show that both share similar fin design and crankcase covers.
Expect more details on the upcoming motorcycle to emerge with time. We expect Indian Motorcycle to unveil the new cruiser offering in the coming months. In terms of rivalry, expect the new offering to lock horns with Harley-Davidson’s Road Glide.
